The Ribos Operation - 9 - top notch, lovely debut for the loveliest of Romana's. The Pirate Planet - 9 The Stones of Blood - 8 - loses it's way a little. The Androids of Tara - 10 - Prisoner of Zenda, multiple Tamm's. EPIC! The Power of Kroll - 5 - a bit meh. The Armageddon Factor - 6 - muddled conclusion to The Key To Time.
Destiny of the Daleks - 1 - Just no. City of Death - 7 - nowhere near as great as it's made out to be. The Creature from the Pit - 5 Nightmare of Eden - 6 The Horns of Nimon - 9 - scenery is chewed. Shada - 5

If we vote for SHADA, we have to count In a Fix With Sontarans, Dimensions In Time, Search Out Science, etc. Besides, there are three different versions kicking around. Best to exclude it. We can always have a 'random stuff' poll after doing the broadcast telly stories but as this is a poll of broadcast telly who it cannot be in this particular poll!

The Ribos Operation - 5 ( I like the idea of grifters selling planets, the homicidal Prince is good, and it is the Mary Tamm intro story. Shame that the actual story isn't particularly involving.) The Pirate Planet - 9 (A story that I like more each time I watch it. Didn't do anything for me initially but I keep finding things in it to like since then.) The Stones of Blood - 5 (Feels like it is going for a fun mythic kind of feel... And then we are back into the Space Corridors) The Androids of Tara - 10 (Two Mary Tamms, Prisoner of Zenda with android duplicates, a really good villian, two Mary Tamms a cracking adventure story pace. And have I mentioned that it has two Mary Tamms?) The Power of Kroll - 4 (Oh dear. Feels like a leftover late-Pertwee story, the Swampies are rubbish. Just very disappointing) The Armageddon Factor - 5 (too long, becomes too pantomime-esque as it goes and runs out of story long before it runs out of episodes)
Destiny of the Daleks - 2 (Really does nothing for me at all.) City of Death - 4 (The script feels very smug and self-satisfied to me) The Creature from the Pit - 5 (Average, entertaining but unremarkable) Nightmare of Eden - 6 (Good rubbish monsters - I genuinely love the Mandrells and I like the fact that the cause of the terror, death and carnage is something as mean and small as someone wanting to make money smuggling drugs. It gives Tom room to stand as a moral arbiter and gives us one of the great TomDoc moments) The Horns of Nimon - 8 (It isn't good. There are many things wrong with it, but any time we have Graham Crowden onsceen it is marvellously entertaining, and the Nimon are fantastic daft monsters) Shada - Considered to be inadmissable due to incomplete and lack of transmission.

The Leisure Hive - 4. Dull and Baker is very boring in it. You can tell he doesn't give a toss and is still 'ill'. Meglos - 2. The cactus is good, but otherwise boring. Full Circle - 6. Has its moments but would have been a better 2-parter. Holds up better on second viewing though. State of Decay - 3. A rare misfire from Uncle Tewwance. Warriors' Gate - 5. Fantastic direction but pretentious and lacking in drama The Keeper of Traken - 2. Boring old men talk about boring things in boring sets. Logopolis - 6. Brilliant mind-expanding ideas, Baker's tired performance style of this series actually suits this story and there's a nice sense of doom but the scripting and direction drag it down. Could have been a solid 10 in better hands.

The Leisure Hive - 3 - dull, Tom doesn't care and it shows Meglos - 2 - yawnfest. Full Circle - 6 - good idea in there, pacing is off entirely though. State of Decay - 5 - a rather sanitised nod to Hammer, the show has done better in that territory before. Not helped by the performances of the three vampires. No need to worry about a stake these people are wooden enough. Warriors' Gate - 5 - visually the most interesting that Who has looked in a while, ponderous, awful story. The Keeper of Traken - 5 - could have been so much better. Logopolis - 6 - like Ralph says it had a lot of ingredients for good Who, mangled by the interminable technobabble and leaden direction.

Castrovalva - 6. My thoughts here are exactly the same as those for Logopolis. Four to Doomsday - 9. Leave me alone. Kinda - 7. Great acting but it's nonsense. Very watchable nonsense though. The Visitation - 2. Dull. Black Orchid - 4. Some nice film work but it's a bit forgettable. Earthshock - 10. This is...EXCELLENT! Time-Flight - 8. It's complete rubbish but it makes me laugh so much I can't help but have a huge soft spot for it.
Arc of Infinity - 2. Gallifrey! Time Lords! Omega! Amsterdam! Colin Baker! Michael Gough! But it's shit. Snakedance - 7. Same thoughts as per Kinda. Mawdryn Undead - 2. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Terminus - 2. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Enlightenment - 6. It hasn't aged well but nice ideas and the models are lovely. The King's Demons - 8. Same thoughts as per Time-Flight. The Five Doctors - 10. Utterly peerless. Probably one of my most-watched bits of telly.

Arc of Infinity - 5 - better than Time Flight - just Snakedance - 5 bored me to tears Mawdryn Undead - 2 - make it stop Terminus - 2 - make it stop Enlightenment - 5 - could have been so much better The King's Demons -7 - tosh that just somehow works The Five Doctors - 9 - great fun.

The Leisure Hive - 1 Excruciatingly dull. The only DW DVD I have got rid of the same fortnight as buying it. Never regretted it either. Meglos - 2 Extremely boring, except when Uncle Aspidist... I mean Cousin Cactus is on screen. Full Circle - 5 There is a half-decent nonsense-science idea in here, but the execution isn't up to much State of Decay - 4 Meanders around before finally bumping into its ending somewhere along the way. A poor imitation of Hammer which does no-one any favours. Warriors' Gate - 5 Wonderfully directed, one of the most interesting late Tom stories on a visual level. Unfortunately on a story level there is almost nothing there at all. The Keeper of Traken - 2 Space wizards and evil magic statures. Shame everyone seems to bored that it is hard to engage with it at all Logopolis - 6 I love some of the central ideas - and there is a nice sense of foreboding which sits nicely with the idea of holding off the inevitable decay of all things that thermodynamics mandates. Unfortunately it becomes increasingly leaden as it goes on.
Castrovalva - 6 Another bag of ideas without much story to hold them together Four to Doomsday - 4 The plot is thin, and keeps stopping to take intermissions as well. Monarch is a good idea for a villian, but in execution somehow seems smaller than he should Kinda - 7 None of its half-ideas add up to anything, but there is such conviction in the playing of it that this carries it through. The Visitation - 2 Doctor Who starts the Great Fire of London by accident, but reduces this to an aside so that he can fight non-descript aliens with an indistinct plan in a non-descript bit of countryside.... Black Orchid - .4 There is nothing wrong with it per se. It is just.. kind of there...
Earthshock - 9 Wants to reinvent the Cybermen as a powerful, relentless and unstoppable foe who oppose everything the Doctor stands for. Succeeds excellently Time-Flight - 2 shoddy looking alien citadel, shockingly terrible Master scheme. Didn't like it at the time, and age has not weathered it well.
Arc of Infinity - 2 Omega hides in a cupboard for most of the story, the Time Lords look even more inept than usual, and there is barely enough story for half the running time. The Space Chicken makes me laugh, but unfortunately at not with it. Snakedance - 7 See Kinda - the metaphysics is nonsensical, but Janet Fielding as Evil Tegan and Martin Clunes invest the thing with more energy than it might otherwise have had. Mawdryn Undead - 2 Boring, meandering and the occasional bright spot cannot really lift this Terminus - 3 Should be epic, bombasting and huge. Instead it is bored folk standing around in space corridoors. Enlightenment - 7 Makes not a lick of sense, but the idea of ageless beings racing sailing ships in space just to keep from being bored has a nice resonance and I love the visuals of it. The King's Demons - 4 Not even the Doctor can really believe that this is happening to him half the time. A sadly static and underpowered script which has drafts wafting through it like a castle The Five Doctors - 10 It is an anniversary special - the entire aim is to gather together Doctor Who things and put them through familiar paces. It does what it aims to do superbly well and makes for some highly entertaining tosh in the process.

Enlightenment - 6. It hasn't aged well but nice ideas and the models are lovely. I really do like the Enlightenment special edition. I showed it a while back to some friends who had only ever seen the new show, and they loved it. Planet of Fire special edition did not go down nearly so well! Fire! Fire everywhere!

Castrovalva - 7. This one is strange. The first two parts are super boring and feel like extended padding, but the last two parts in Castrovalva are excellent. Four to Doomsday - 2. Argh. Seriously. Argh. No, really. Argh. Kinda - 8. I wasn't that impressed when I first saw it, but it's really grown on me since. Not quite the 10/10 other people seem to think. The Visitation - 2. Loved the book, I really really struggle getting through this one. I'm sure I have watched it all the way through, but like The Dominators, I have no memory of that traumatic event. Black Orchid - 7. Absolutely nothing wrong with this one despite being a bit shallow, I have no idea why people moan. Earthshock - 9. EXCELLENT. Time-Flight - 6. First time watching I really liked it, to my surprise. Second time, the latter half felt a bit boring and stretched out. It's got some nice set pieces, ideas, and character moments for people who aren't the main cast, but the whole is less than the sum of its parts.
Arc of Infinity - 2. ARGH. ARGH. This could easily have been so good, but they fumbled the ball badly here. It should have been (and seemed to be aiming for) a character piece about an epic villain who isn't really a villain, but then it just implodes on itself. It barely even bothers to explain who Omega is (or at least if it does, I missed it!) Snakedance - 8. Great stuff Mawdryn Undead - 8. I enjoyed this one more than I expected to. Terminus - 2. What the hell. Seriously, what? Terminus should have been great, but it's just so boring! Enlightenment - 9. It's so close to a 10 to me, just let down by a few scenes which don't really convince/made sense, and an ending that should have been more cohesive (c'mon, offering Turlough a diamond? THAT'S his temptation??). The special edition would get a 10 from me, it's a lot tighter so the plot holes are less of a worry. The King's Demons - 6 Not bad by any means and I like Kamelion's little song, but it feels overlong even at 2 eps The Five Doctors - 9. Love the Five Doctors, great stuff! If Tom Baker had been there it would get a 10!

Weng-Chiang meanwhile is surprisingly low, what's wrong with you all? And Traken!! We have a new 'worst story' in Meglos! Who likes Baker best? Matt 6.76 Phil 6.68 Andy T 6.51 Ralph 6.22 Karl 5.80 So uh, me apparently. That's surprising. I suppose I have a higher tolerance for the more rubbish stories, which his era does have a lot of, unfortunately (and great ones too, mind you). The average score for a Tom Baker story is 6.4, which is the lowest by some way! Lets have a few graphs to finish it off! Firstly, the average of all the scores! And lastly, a super confusing graph comparing everyone's scores.

Warriors of the Deep - 8. A perfect example of: "It's so bad it's good." The Awakening - 8. Great wee tale. Just the right length. Frontios - 6. Dragged down by the most terrible score in TV history. Fucking space pan-pipes. Resurrection of the Daleks - 9. Utter nonsense but by golly it's entertaining. Planet of Fire - 6. Hasn't aged well and it had the wrong Peter Wynegard in it, but still has merit. The Caves of Androzani - 10. Flawless. The Twin Dilemma - 8. One of the bteer regeneration stories.
