I can't say that I am completely surprised, given the way things have been developing over at DC over the last few years.
Still, reading between the lines it does rather smack of her being levered out by shenanigans

DC a company locked in a death spin, creatively speaking at least.

To be honest, DC's reshuffles are taking on the air of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. I don't think whatever they do is going to make any difference to their ongoing decline.

And yet can anyone hear recall ever seeing ads for the comics in front of any comics based movie? I can't remember seeing a comic ad before a comic movie since Batman in 1989! No one is paying attention in the wider world. No one cares.

And uh, not making them accessible to casual readers.

But now everyone has tablets, smartphones etc and legal digital comics exist. Comics companies will never have a better chance to increase their audience. But they need to ADVERTISE.

They also need to drastically rethink the pricing structure for digital comics. You or I might drop £3 on fifteen minutes worth of reading, but the app store has games that can provide hours of entertainment for a quid. If a new comic was the same price as a song (and the tens of millions of folk who enjoyed the films knew how to access them) they'd be in with a better chance, in my utterly worthless and ill-informed opinion (imuwiio?).

Agreed. One of the things that strikes me is that at three quid, a comic is around half the price of a lot of ebooks - I don't think that comics come out well in the comparison.
