They also need to drastically rethink the pricing structure for digital comics. You or I might drop £3 on fifteen minutes worth of reading, but the app store has games that can provide hours of entertainment for a quid. If a new comic was the same price as a song (and the tens of millions of folk who enjoyed the films knew how to access them) they'd be in with a better chance, in my utterly worthless and ill-informed opinion (imuwiio?). -Nick What I'd like to see (as more or less a new reader in any title that doesn't have an X in it and then as an old time reader who wants a good recap) is to see a weblink on any promo stuff for a comicbook film like Ironman 3 for comixology or a marvel.com site. On there in an easy to use interface friendly sort of way should be a set of repackaged classic Ironman and related comics, renumbered 1- 50 (or whatever number) in more or less chronological order. First couple of issues are free and the rest are 50c. Anyone who makes it to the end of the collection would be able to drop into any of the Ironman or Avengers comics with a half decent sense of what is going on. With millions of people seeing IM3 many of them able to go to the comic website while waiting for the film to begin you'd get at least a few new readers who stuck around. But it would only work if like Nicks says new digital comics were cheaper. 50c an issue to $4 an issue would never work.

Aside from their back catalogue, DC have nothing that interests me anymore. Sad really, it seems like Bob has ushered in the X-Office Editorial style of the 90's to the entirety of DC. Not a good thing.

It is the 90s Ferrero Rocher advert of promotions. An event out of which the piss has already been taken.

Do a search for WTF on Bleeding Cool to look at how this one's been evolving

I suspect this will be one of those things that gets attention on the internet but does not do anything for sales. If you're not already reading it looks very juvenile.

BBC News spoiled it yesterday!
DC and Marvel seem to think if they blow their magic plot points on slow news days then people will care. They won't. If they're not reading it means nothing so they won't start and it just pisses off existing readers by effectively sticking two fingers up at them and telling them they don't matter for having been actually buying the damn series.

I assume it's some sort of CLEARING OF THE DECKS TO GET THE CLASSIC TEAM BACK TOGETHER, RESET BUTTON EVERYTHING MUST BE LIKE THE 60S

Nah. Too much rape and dismemberment in DC comics for it to be like the 60's era.

Good Grief. I vaguely new they were going to do a tie-in comic to the game but.... really, this suggests that DC have invented a method for actually distilling and refining stupidity. Also, it doesn't really work as an advert for the game, because knowing this is exists makes me less interested in buying the game.

I will be genuinely amazed if DC Comics exists as anything other than a very small thing pumping out movie tie-ins five years from now.

DC Comics continues to entertain, albeit unintentionally and self-destructively. I think all I can do is shake my head in bewilderment at what goes on at DC these days. Karl

If the current regime stays as it is, it's only a matter of time before it implodes. A sad thing really, but Bob Harras at the helm was only ever going to end badly.
