Captain Shark is a legend amongst transforming robot action figures. I'll never forget handling this fine figure at the pub in Cardiff ===KEN

Oh wow that REALLY does! I'm shocked there was never a repaint of Hot Shot in those colours! I'd like that. I'd like to some Brave homages generally though. Every time I look at Brave toys I want to start collecting them. One day.

I have a few Brave toys in the collection - Build Tiger, Fighbird and a handful of others. I do have a great love of the general aesthetic of the stuff. They are cracking looking toys.
That Blog is in danger of reawakening my nagging sense that I don't have enough Brave toys yet....

How are those still on sale? Do Takara keep making them, or did they make 20 billion?

Most recent lot seem to have been from an "anniversary" re-release of some of the Brave stuff in Korea a few years back. (Brave Anniversaries are a bit like Super Sentai ones - you can gerrymander which date you want to measure from to give you the right round number closer to when you want it)

I didn't even notice this Brave thread... I'm going to have to show off my J Decker here at some point. I would also like to say I am very sad at missing out/never getting my hands on the two Takara MP Brave robots from a couple years back...

Fantastic! And Bookmarked, seeing as I didn't have a bookmark for it in this browser. Even though I have the Brave Book, I can see me going back to peruse this site more than a few times.

Hmm. Interesting. I'm not prepared to dismiss it out of hand. There is enough similarity that you can "get there from here" from one to another at least...

It does look very plausible, especially given the context of the crossover between the two lines in Japan around that time. If you exclude the cowboy hat, the head/face sculpt does look remarkably like the Super Megatron design. Does anyone have this toy/know of any size comparisons with the Cybertron Battlestars figures?

I forget where (might have been RFC?) but some folk have postulated that TR Sentinel Prime has a Brave influence to it. Looking at pics of the robot mode and train modes again I can sort of see it.
