Incredibly a box sent in Edinburgh yesterday has already reached Swindon.
Has a parcel going the opposite way done the same?

I ran downstairs excitedly when I heard the postman's style knock on my letterbox.
No parcel, but two JWs...

So it's at the Kaptain's Kastle. All we need now is for Ralph to collect it. Sadly however the Kaptain has been at death's door this weekend.

Everything that should be here is now here, with the exception of one comics package which never arrived. This month's Doctor Who audio subscription turned up ok.
I am definitely not ordering anything bigger than letterbox size for quite a while though. I can't be arsed with the hassle.

I received a card in the post wanting £1.66 for a parcel hostage because it claims that not enough postage was paid... ( ) I don't get that... .. Not sure if I can get down to the office until Thursday. Still... It's an incentive all the same to be excited about!

Managed to make the sorting office early by chance.
I paid in the £1.66. When I got the packet I relised what went wrong.
The ebay sender I won a Detective Donatello figure from only posted him to me with a 2nd class stamp in an envelope. The auction said postage was £1.95...
RM were in the right this time.

Phil is a little worried that the tracking number for his latest parcel from BBTS isn't recognised by www.usps.com

I look to have lost one or possibly two items from the post. One from America that was supposed to be for Phil and the other a small bit of tat for me.

Yep, 'fraid so. I will have to donder down tomorrow morning on my way into work and try and rescue them (as the Royal Mail counter closes in mid-afternoon these days). They will have to team-up with me and travel into Edinburgh for the day (I'll have enough backup to count as a full team all by myself on Friday it looks like....) Karl

It's a common misconception that VAT is a percentage of the whole, but it's not; it's the cost plus 20% to make the whole. eg the VAT element of £120 is not £24 (20% of 120) but rather £20 (100 + 20% = 120). Divide the whole by 1.2 to get the Ex VAT cost. ie 120/1.2=100 or 140.08/1.2=116.73 therefore VAT is 140.08-116.73=23.35

Ouch.
Probably the exchange rate. I believe they set their own exchange rate, rather than use the actual one it is at time of calculating.
