I'd be absolutely shocked if you asked the Farce to give you their calculations and they duly complied.

Goto www.hmrc.gov.uk/index.htmSearch for Notice 143 Click on A guide for international post users 3.1 How are import charges calculated?
Value Added Tax (VAT) - Import VAT is charged at the same rate that applies to similar goods sold in the UK and applies to commercial goods over £18 in value, and on gifts that are over £40 in value. The value of the goods for import VAT is based on the:
* basic value of goods, plus * postage, packing and insurance, plus * any import (Customs or Excise) duties charged. You get CUTA'd on the postage? ? ? ? That's a new one on me!

Wait, wait, how can they set their *own* exchange rate? !! Is that legal? Everyone can set their own exchange rate. Go to any two places to change your money into another currency, and the rates will be different. It's just competition / market forces that normally keep them fairly similar to one another. (And the rate in one direction is always different from the rate in the other direction, in order that the person doing the conversion always makes a profit by the transaction.) Martin

Ah but exchange rates are generally all around a similar ammount. I suspect the postage thing, which I didn't know about, has really screwed the calculations.
Postage was an extra $60.74, bringing the total to 287.67
So $Value = 287.67 Exchange Rate 1.62 £ Value 177.58 * 20% = 35.516
working the value backwards they've used an exchange rate of 1.81

Item posted 1st class over 2 and a half weeks ago never arrived and enquiries reveal it is probably lost. It would seem that even without SNOW CHAOS! or Christmas bollocks that my local mail is well and truly fucked and/or someone has light fingers.
This was a hard to get hold of out of production expensive MOTU figure so not bloody happy!

Still at least you've stopped delivering my bank statements to the middle of the street outside.

Ooooh didn't realise those PCC were out!
Saying that I hear BBTS has Thundercracker already, which is a bit 'whoa'.
Any reason you've opted for RTS Lugnut over United? I hear they are pretty different.

I've not opted for RTS over United :-) I've had my RTS one for a while.
BBTS aren't the only people with Thundercracker and Wheeljack: I've just been told that I should have my Wheeljack later this week.
I believe these are the last PCC :-(
