You've got to love Pricing In Proportion.
It just cost me 7p more to send a packet of Top Trumps UK First Class than to send one Air Mail to Malta.

That's pretty decent considering Malta has a more powerful currency than us. Well it was last time I checked.

Well of course - UK First Class probably represents more regular business than Air Mail to Malta so from Royal Mail's perspective it is only logical to make that more expensive - that way they increase the amount of money they make even further. The purpose of Pricing In Proportion is to maximise profits after all. It's not as if the post exists to provide a service to customers after all... Karl

Prices are going up again in the next week or so.
It's getting so a Transformers nut can't do a printed/posted fanzine no more.

Wasn't sure if this should go in here or Toys... I know that the Icelandic Geological flatulence really messed up international post lately, but is anyone else still finding that international post is taking its sweet time? Even internal UK stuff seems to have slowed down a lot lately. Just thought I'd see what the situation was like for the rest of the Hub, given that we're mostly in the UK ordering toys from overseas.

I find overseas post is very random. I've had stuff take weeks to get to or from America, but an item I sold on ebay the other week got there in literally a few days.

Yeah, I've had stuff send much faster from here to there than the other way round. But both myself and my better half are waiting on stuff ordered from HLJ about 3 weeks ago, maybe more, and I've got a bunch of stuff from the US which is taking about twice as long as usual to arrive too...

A DW book sent by Play in November never arrived, neither did a boxset from Play a few weeks later.
Amazon stuff usually arrives a few days ahead of their delivery estimate
My making of ESB harback is rogue, Amazon said expected yesterday and the tracking information goes dead when it was passed from the couriers to Royal Mail.
They sent my Inception BD 31/12 and that's not turned up - Amazon say due tmw.
They sent some DVDs for Liz's Birthday 30/12, Amazon say due today, no sign of them.
I'm suspecting someone in the sorting office, possibly a temp, may be a little light fingered.

I'm awaiting stuff from Kapow which supposedly shipped on the 16th of December. A couple of Manga from United Publications, also, but I think the release on those was simply pushed back.
Damn you Kapow, I want my Jazz!

I too await a box from Kapow, long overdue as well as a DW CD box set from Big Finish.

Transformers cybertron dvd but I think thats the seller as hes yet to respond to any questions or an ebay buyer dispute. One item just got returned to me after sitting in scotland for a month. I assume the postman forgot to put a card through the letter box. One other seems to have disappeared despite being tracked.

I'm hoping parts I ordered for my Mini yesterday morning, with guaranteed next day delivery, will turn up this morning, or it's going to be stuck in Bracknell when I skip town to Crawley tomorrow.

Had the 90 min round-trip to the sorting office today to pick up 4 Recorded Delivery items (expensive Masters of the Universe stuff). Alas, 3 of them are "lost in the system". Thankyou, Royal Mail, for losing £100 of stuff via your secure delivery service. I am not at all a happy bunny.

I got a parcel at 6pm the other day. 3rd party delivery people seem to be cropping up more.
Still waiting on lots of Christmas related stuff including presents, cards and decorations (I ordered back in November). A little too late for some of it now...

I'm now making three claims. One for a package I sent was taken to the collection officethat then was so throughly buried when the person went to collect it royal mail couldn't find it and then eventually sent it back to me. One package I sent lost and one sent to me lost too.
Also one payment for an ebay auction went missing.
