Have you guys pissed off employees of Royal Mail? This catalogue of errors makes me wonder....I get stuff delivered to me fine, Kapow, Amazon, America, Canada, Far East etc....Especially Ralphs case, it seems to never end. I fail to believe a whole area depo is chock full of ignorant, lazy good for nothings who loose every single item to be delivered or deliver it wrongly....If its ok for Andy to swear in this thread describing them as arseholes its ok for me, so to be frank either Royal Mail think your a pain in the arse, ergo an arsehole and are doing everything in their power to piss you off Ralph or you may have pissed someone off once long ago and they now have a stress inducing vendetta against you....and think of you as an arsehole worth annoying in such a manner....Its a story worthy of WatchDog but its a shame Thats Life is no longer on on a Sunday night as this story would have sounded better with Ranzen, Doc Cox and Chris Serle doing the 'he said,' 'they said' bits whilst telling the story... I am extremely thankful no such thing happens in my area. And that Thats Life is no longer on the air funnily enough....

It really does depend on the area you live. Some places are just far more difficult to deliver post to, and so postmen don't bother trying. I've had my share of good and bad ones.

It's here!
I had to explain to the postman why it was addressed to the Death Fortress!

Indeed not. A thoroughly wasted morning. Spent a couple of hours trying to get there only to have to admit defeat when I found buses stop quite a way before it. Twas pissing with rain and when I saw that the M8 barred the way I shook my fist.
I shall ask the seller for a refund.

Seller could not have been more helpful. Off their own back and on their own initiative they paid the courier more to deliver next Saturday.
Alas I am away all day next Saturday. I am open to suggestions.

When you say can't change the order, do you means he can't move the delivery to the following Saturday which seems like the most sensible option?
What did the auction state in relation to shipping method?

They can't. I appreciate they are trying to help, but experience has taught me that I can never get anything from a courier! I have sent a polite message thanking them for their help and requesting a refund.

Nope! I tried to see if it could be sent to my work address, which is usually a no-no but would have been ok for a one-off. I even said they could leave it under my mat but no.

For all its faults this is why I like Royal mail. Usually sorting offices are accessible and items can usually be held at a local post office for collection if nothing else works and of course no extra charge for delivery on the day most people have off.

Plus, postmen are generally capable of ringing a doorbell, unlike most courier drivers. "Was that a barely audible knock on the front door? I'd better check if I have a delivery."

Indeed. Despite my many issues with them in the last year, I still prefer them over any other mail carrier. -Ralph

Next time you move pick somewhere with decent public transport links to sorting offices!

I had exactly the same problems when living in Glasgow and also Clydebank. Couriers are always somewhere unreachable without a car, which I why I try to avoid using them by choice wherever possible.
The public transport links where I am are excellent (I use buses extensively in my job and get just about anywhere easily). But depots are far beyond bus routes in industrial estates.

The sorting office in Swindon isn't that far from a bus stop, while the one where I used to live in Kingston was right next to a bus stop!

The sorting office in Swindon isn't that far from a bus stop, while the one where I used to live in Kingston was right next to a bus stop! The Edinburgh one is not conveniently placed for bus stops. The only real public transport link is a railway station which only a few train services stop at (most blow straight through). That works for me because one of those few services is one of my usual trains to and from work, for those that actually live in Edinburgh it is significantly less helpful. Karl

Finally got my money back from twat ebay seller. Took a lot of messages before they agreed.
55 minute journey to Parcelfarce Depot from work to pay the outragously high ransom for TFCC Ramjet.
I hope not to have to post in the thread again for quite some time.
