Royal Mail have had my business for the last time. I rarely order items online now due to them losing things and had decided to stop using them for sending parcels. But after they charged my dad to obtain a standard birthday card I had posted correctly they have now lost my business for posting personal correspondence. I'll be trying out some local carrier services in future.
Totally had it with RM's deplorable service. Putting my money where my mouth is.

Royal mail really are a bunch of useless people.
After waiting nearly two weeks for a parcel to show up, the post man today stuck the red "Something for you leaflet" through my door. What is infuriating me is that it is dated the 12th of January. EIGHT fucking days ago and only now they are notifying me that it has arrived.
I live in a block of flats with decent people, so why not press someone elses buzzer to access the building and ask them to hold it for me? When it is for someone else and the delivery service can't access the building my bloody buzzer always gets pushed, which annoys my dog.
if they had to have someone on foot stick the leaflet through the door, why not the next day, why 8 fucking days later?
Argghhhhh.
now I need to walk to the local sorting office to pick this up and carry it how. What annoys me more it was a favour for a friend to order something for his son of ebay, so now I need to carry home a crappy ps2. Arghhhhh.

And now I get a note from RM saying that they will deliver my mail that is too big for the letterbox to neighbours if I am not in. Er, no. I need it to go to the sorting office so I can get it.
Apparently, they have been doing this since November 2011 and wrote to me then to inform me. No, they didn't. This may explain how some items went missing though.
If I choose not to continue with this trial, I have to put a sticker where my post man/woman can see it, it says here. Erm no, it's a rented property. I can't put stickers on the door.
*checks website* Yep, I can only opt out of something I never agreed to by using a sticker. There appears to be no other option.
FFS!

It's got to the point where I have went from a heavy user of RM to using them as little as possible. Slowly but surely it has become impossible for me to order parcels due to their increasingly shoddy service. And with stamps going up to 60p, my sending of letters will drop significantly too.

Thanks to my close proximity to the local sorting office my level of service is pretty good, but their business practices are reprehensible.

I had great service in Glasgow, but the Edinburger service...somewhat less so.

Arranged a redelivery of a parcel they tried to deliver on Wednesday for today. Stayed inside especially for that reason. He ignored my house (he came to my street, I saw him chatting with one of my neighbours). I've sent off an inquiry to Royal Mail...wonder if anything will actually happen?
There's only two possible reasons why this happened, either:
1. The dispatch center didn't bother putting my parcel in the postie's load 2. The postie is skipping some houses (pretty sure that's the case)
EDIT: Wonderful reply from them...they'll look into it and get in touch with me within 3 working days...ie when I'm not available again....

Dear Royal Mail : I could not possibly have signed for the recorded delivery jury duty citation as I was in ******* Ireland at the time! FFS!

Had a package sent back overseas from the delivery office this morning as I didn't collect it on time - thing is, the card clearly says they hold for 3 weeks, which would have been tomorrow, but their actual policy is 18 days!
I'd have collected last week had I known, but assumed I had time. It seems they were continuing to use out of date cards to save some money. Morons.

Good grief. Royal Mail really are making a right pigs ear of things aren't they? How can they manage to lose two different instances of the same thing in close succession, that is well and truly rubbish.

Indeed. I switched to digital for comics a while ago and so had lost the novelty of my physical comics routinely going 'missing' in the post but this is one series I must read on dead wood.
A THIRD set has now been sent out. Will they get here this time?
Alas, as I paid for them by Paypal I can't get them sent to another address.

Third set. Ok, now that is time to escalate a complaint up Royal Mail's complaints system, and to whichever Ombudsman covers them if that fails.

Seems like a reasonable assumption. As the saying goes - once is unfortunate, twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action.

I feel I must apologise to Royal Mail. In a mind staggering twist it would appear they are not at fault at all. Rather it is the comic shop who have been mucking me about a total of four times now. They have now lost my business and I must say sorry to RM for they are blameless in this instance!

So what actually happened to your comics? Were they sent to the wrong place, never sent at all, actually fed to a badger..?

Never sent at all, it would seem. Fed constant bullshit by the comic shop. The penny dropped when they sent me a T&A comic instead of a Transformer one. Ho fucking ho.
