I agree it would probably read better if rearranged so the sub-plots were "done-in-one" instead of piecemeal over 5 issues. Much like Galvatron's screen-watching, it seems like Hot Rod's taken an awful long time to walk not very far. And Prime's page-and-a-half in this issue achieved nothing but reminding us that he's still on earth, and has guns in his grill. Any of these plots could have been tidily condensed - or if needs be, have Rodders return to the surface at the right time in relation to the Grimlock/Scorponok story and then spend the following issue explaining what he's been up to.
That being said, we didn't get an update on Soundwave and Bludgeon this month...
But this is the first issue where I thought the art was consistently good all the way through. And I'm intrigued by Scorponok's condition - though it does slightly reek of "let's quickly introduce a weakness for him in time for the conclusion of the story arc" (unlike Megatron's weakness in the last arc which was foreshadowed from the start and was pretty obvious. Can't win with me).

Enjoyed the latest issue. Think Simon is going with the Primus is not a benevolent god angle with things, which makes sense and probably foreshadows the appearance of Jhiaxus et al later in the series. The first collection arrived from Amazon and I plan to sit and read it over the weekend. Andy

Optimus really hates trees! The comic has just gone up in my estimates if this is a Target 2006 reference.

Optimus really hates trees! The comic has just gone up in my estimates if this is a Target 2006 reference. It isn't. He merely shoots some trees that are in his way. It just amused me as he is in the midst a of doom laden internal monologue at the time. -Ralph

According to John Barber's twitter Guido Guidi will be drawing issue 93. I'm looking forward to this as I've enjoyed his covers enormously, hope they go the whole hog with the retro styling.

Not a happy bunny as half the point of the series is Wildman on pencils. I'd rather they published a special that month instead.

Yeah, I love Guido's covers (it's the one I go for each month) but I don't want to see him pencilling an issue.

Well, I'm pretty sure even Wildman would have needed a fill-in or two back then during a 25 issue run; at least it will be by someone good (I would have been happier with Senior of course). Hopefully it will structurally fit in well, a flashback issue or some such.

It'll good to see Guidi on the few issue - but it is over 2 story arcs instead of sticking to one - maybe should have done the 3rd arc. But Guidi has got good at being a master of cloning other artists styles with the RG1 cover, Wreckers , Annuals 2012 doing Frank Springer. Been afew comments about Andrew not drawing Springer the same over a few panels - but should not have any problem with Guidi's issues. But if they are going to be at the same standard of the cover B's? Stephen is inking so if Guidi does the same art style then the inner work'll look better than the covers.

To be honest Guido's covers have done a better job of aping Wildman's style than the man himself, who's work has been a bit all over the place in this (compared to the tight-as-anything work he was doing in the latter-stage Marvel US issues). I've become quite a fan of Guido's work after perusing his Deviant Art page - his Victory-style illustrations of the Classic Pretenders stand out as a fave. Sadly the change in artist won't do anything for the glacial pace of the series...

Disappointing news given the way the series was originally heralded with Wildman as intrinsically involved in conception as Furman was. But I have been loving Guido's covers so I'm happy it's him taking over (though yes, the return of Geoff Senior would have been perfect).

Yeah if anyone had to take over, Guido is the chap to do. I'm still terribly disappointed Wildman couldn't see the series through but these things happen. At least he's still doing the last issue.

Quite enjoyed the latest issue. The big fight didn't quite live up to the billing, though that may be Wildman's best RG1 cover yet. He always gave good Scorponok.
Crosshairs' casual execution of, er, one of Pounce and Wingspan was a bit jarring. I didn't like it.
Pacing still a bit slow with the Earth-side stuff and it isn't engaging me very much as a result.
The big key just seems ridiculous, more like a scheme from the cartoon than the comic.

Silly Galvatron he could have saved his TV viewing for the forthcoming flight.
I preferred the previous story but I'm looking forward to 'Destiny' and interested in seeing where everything is going.

I'm about an issue behind on this book, having shifted it to post-price drop territory, but for me I think I'm enjoying it a bit more now it has moved away from Earth. When the focus was on what felt like "we blew up a fair chunk of the setting" I really wasn't that enthused. Now it has shifted to "space robots doing bonkers space robot things" with a side-plate of daft cosmic mythology it seems to be going down a bit more easily. I will miss having Wildman on art though. Guidi is a cracking artist and I do like his Transformers work, but part of the raisin d'ĂȘtre of this book is reuniting the team from the end of the US run so it will be a shame.

Well, I got #91 off comixology even though it's not supposed to be out till next week...
I like Hot Rod's storyline. I still think he's the most interesting character there, and I like how his position is so insecure given that a lot of the Autobots seem to have little faith in him.
The words 'eugenesis' and 'allspark' are mentioned (in throwaway references).
But the main talking point is going to be the last few pages. I didn't see that coming at all...

Regarding those last couple of pages in #91, I'm pretty certain Simon told us this was coming and it was teased in the FCBD issue last May. And the little we have here gives no real indication of what's going to (slowly) happen, since I'm sure Simon will try and play against expectations.
Looking forward to whatever comes...
