Bloody hell! This is whay happens when IDW bores me almost completely out of the fandom and I ignore everything in a desperate attempt to avoid reading about their terrible comics and despairing that there will ever be another one worth reading. I am going to have to get my finger out and catch up! You know, I actually have #18 and #20 sitting on the table next to me, bought on a whim at the local store. Haven't read them yet! That's how excited I was.
This news, all of it, not just Wildman/Furman, but the take over by Roche and Roberts and Barber, all of it makes me sit up and take notice. This might stick in the craw of Ryall et al, but they've just regained a buyer who had walked away.
Man, I almost feel like I did waaaaaay back when I discovered a copy of #77 at the local newsagent. Yeah, I came across the original series right as it all died.
Wildman! Eeeeeeeee!

That was a really cool gallery, some really nice stuff I hadn't seen before or didn't recognise.

It's not UK continuity unless we get references to Aunty, Earthforce and Surviviors, dagnamit!

Also seems we are getting a new #81 panel on saturday at AA? sort of seems like that from the 16th guess posting. Furman, Wildman & Baskerville - so we might have SB on inks - Yes!

Oooh, eagerly anticipating that preview panel. Hope it pops up on the interwebs!
Incidentally, lovely as it was to see Andy Wildman's work make it to the BBC News site, does anyone know why?

Guess Simon is going to have a good killing spree for #98-100. Who's going to be the last bot standing? I'm sure Andrew is looking forward to challenge Nick to a friendly "lets see how many bots I can draw getting killed". James & Nick might be working on something to follow on from Wreckers. But Nick & Andrew will be amazed by each others work & having fun drawing them.

Guess Simon is going to have a good killing spree for #98-100. I seriously hope not. Killing doesn't equal plot. I'd have hoped G2 got that out of their system. Deaths by the dozen, I sure haven't missed 'em. Martin

Wildman has been tweeting recently that he has done 'an issue and a half', then later that he is on the last pages of #81. Presumably #80.5 is in the can already then. No issues solicited yet, which is encouraging as I hope that means enough time is being built into the schedule to have it come out on time.

I would expect #80.5 to be part of Free Comic Book Day, that's what they did with GI Joe #155.5.

I hope not. I've never been able to get any TF comic during FCBD.
I would have no objections to a $1-2 mini-comic, similar to the IDW TF #0 comic published in 2005, however.
Blimey! 6 years of IDW TF comics! They'll beat Marvel US's seven year stint for comic publication soon.

Wildman's blog mentions that pencils for #81 are done. 22 pages in 15 days. Well done that man.

About 20 years and 2 months after the last issue. Thats got to be the longest gap between issues of any comic right? Surely, its like a a quarter of the time comics have existed in their current form.

Hmmmm I wonder if that date has anything to do with delays announcing Botcon? Realistically its the biggest Transformers event next year, unless Transformers: The Ride really excites you. So Furman and Wildman would make sense as guests.

Considering how under the radar this revival is with most of the fanbase, I very much doubt it.
It's an event to us, but most fans online couldn't give a toss.

Inevitably, being linked to the Marvel comic - which was off most Transformers fans radar even when it was being published - this is somewhat out of the limelight stuff. For the mainstream of fandom the Marvel comic doesn't really resonate.
I have every confidence that it is going to be quite good, but I don't really expect it to set fandom alight the way that it would if someone declared they were going to do a "Season 2.5" of the Sunbow cartoon in comic form. That is just the nature of things.
