Besides, Phil was naughty himself and I had to edit a spoilery post from him! Andy Ish. Besides I did have it in my head that we had a genuine issue with images inside spoilers showing outside them which is why I didn't bother.

I think that was the case with the first version of the spoiler plug in for the board.

Yeah. That was good. Another strong one. Although, aren't they all? And like all of the stories that don't appear to be strong, this actually had a lot of very important stuff in it - including the things that Windcharger mentions above.
Most of all, though, and slow as it may feel at times, I think this issue is yet another important one in building up to when the shit's really going to hit the fan. And when it hits, we're gonna feel it...

Ooh, one other thing:
I reckon Ironfist has a MASSIVE part to play in everything upcoming. I think he figured out what's really been going on all this time in relation to The Grand Architect, tracing it back to the Primal Vanguard and Delta Magnus. And he's hidden his findings in his Wreckers datalogs.
Red recognises them, and so did Ironfist's friend Skyfall, who said he likes to read them at normal pace so he can spot the typo's (this was mentioned in the text story 'Bullets'.
So the implication is that most people go for the 'beaming into their heads' way of getting the story. He also needed to cover himself by way of typo's so they couldn't be directly interpreted by... the Institute I guess. But Red found them and is trying to put them together. But Red has been tampered with by the Institute in the past (the dots on his neck under UV light in Shadowplay). So if he works it out, then maybe they do too.

MTMTE 47 and SOTW 1
My recommendation is read SOTW first.

I would agree with that recommendation.
Oh fucking hell. That was... I know a lot's been made about how Roberts is dealing with relationship, and love, and stuff, but he's not doing it for the cheap feels, either. The fact that Getaway's been manipulating Tailgate as part of a plot to end Megatron, a plot that Whirl kicked off way back at the start of Season 2, that's... that's smart. And something that's going to have consequences. Damn.
Also, I currently refuse to believe that Cyclonus is dead. Mostly because of all the other non-deaths thus far. But still... sad.
And what *was* that blast from Tailgate? Do we have any clues?

I enjoyed that alot apart from the end, as if Cyclonus is dead that's a dumb way to go out (that was the best plan? really?) and I had no idea what was going on on the last page. But good to know Getaway is an evil baddy after all.

I don't think Getaway is a baddie as such. He's been fighting a war for millions of years. The leader of the enemy who has ordered and been responsible for the great atrocities committed has survived until the end of the war and guess what. Nothing has happened. He hasn't paid for his crimes instead he is on the same ship as you on a great queat. Not that I condone such actions but I think they are a bit more nuanced than simply being bad. It's the weaponising of Tailgate that is his real misdeed.

Oh yes. If we assume that what Getaway tells Tailgate at the start of the issue is true, then you can totally understand why he'd be less than thrilled at having to follow Megatron's orders.
But nothing, nothing forgives Getaway for what he did to my baby. If even Whirl - Whirl! Of all 'bots! - can have a change of conscience on this, then I think we can see EXACTLY what Getaway is.
God, he's a dick.

I was reading this on the train back to uni from the comic shop. I didn't finish it before the train pulled in. The last panel I saw before I had to stuff it into my bag was Megatron springing up and grabbing Tailgate by the face. That was one tense walk down to the lab.
Add my name to the "no way is Cyclonus dead" list. For one thing, tumblr would burn James Roberts' house down. I do think he'll be out of commission for a while. Maybe until a... pivotal moment in a future issue? I'm hoping for some sort of Fort Max style "guess who's back bitches!" reveal in the nick of time.
As for Tailgate's rainbow-splosion... I don't know what to make of it. Maybe the big menacing dude in the issue 48 preview used him like a space bridge, as Shockwave and Nova Prime did with Megatron during the whole Dark Cybertron thing. Mind you, that required extensive modification of Megatron's body that you'd think Ratchet would have noticed when he examined him in issue... 2? I don't think he's been on his own with someone who could modify him like that at any point. Tyrest, maybe? Did they shut everyone down before they imprisoned them?
I do know one thing. Tailgate has a lot more friends than Cyclonus (and Whirl, inasmuch as anyone is his friend). Getaway better watch his ass.

This is one of those issues where I break ranks with what seems to be gushing consensus on Twitter - I thought it was middling-to-annoying.
It felt very manipulative, and very much playing to the crowd; there was no doubt where it was going from the off, and it relies heavily on you liking - even loving, as everyone seems to - Tailgate. It feels almost like heresy to say this, but he's a character I've found increasingly annoying as the series has gone on, especially in the latter half. On the other hand I really like(d?) Cyclonus and was looking forward to him getting to do something more interesting.
As for the rainbow burst I think it's to be taken at face value as a strikingly unsubtle and sentimental grief thing. The main redeeming feature here is easily Whirl.
This is probably my least favourite issue to date. I note without comment that those who have been banging on about the "ableism" of the previous arc seem to really love it.

48: I've read it, I can't unread it!
Quark! That's Brainstorm's lost love?
As soon as singing and music started and we saw the symbol on Skids it was obvious how this was going to end.
VERY surprising to see Cyclonus looking so well. And apparently Thunderclash is up and about too? But Tailgate isn't?
Good issue

My problem was issue 46. I don't understand where Grimlock suddenly came into all this from and why Fort Max was absent for so long . I'm happy that 48 got back to a long established plot thread - Skids - instead of creating a completely new one. Overall still enjoying this very much. In fact, 48 was great. Great story .
And Skids.

Issues 7, 8 and the text story in 21 explain all your problems and set up the plot threads we see continued there.

That is helpful. They should have put that info as a footnote in issue 46, like "for backstory see..."
