I highly recommend this comic mart - Transformers UK comics for 10p each.

So, my bredrin, what is the latest? Should I get booked up?

I need to wait and see whether my landlord will grant an extension to the lease or not. If not, I will have to move in November and can't come. If yes, I should be able to but won't know for another 2-3 weeks.

I've written the date on my calendar to try to prevent double-booking and have ruled out that date for a meeting that I was supposed to be leading, so it looks as though I'm going to manage not to rule myself out of this one. It'll be the first time that's ever happened!

I'm also hoping to make it down, but I need to wait and see how a couple of other things shake out before I am certain. Hopefully I will know for definite fairly soon.

So Saturday is the night most people will be staying, is it (rather than the Friday)?

I'd like to make it to one or the other of Novembers gatherings but will have to see about finances nearer the time. I might make it a megabus tour.

Still hoping to make it down for this, but I will have to wait until after payday next week to book transport and accommodation and whatnot.

My attendance is going to be dependent on what turns out to be wrong with my heating and how extensive/expensive the repair turns out to be I fear.

Still a possibility for me. So who has actually committed for definite and booked travel/accommodation for this one?

My bro and I will definitely be there. I haven't booked accomodation yet, though, as I've had a bad couple weeks and am not sure I can afford it. If worst comes to worst, my bro and I can always catch the last train home that night.

I will need to go down on the Saturday and come back Sunday so it may not be doable. Real Life has prevented me from concentrating on this task.

Real Life has prevented me from concentrating on this task. -Ralph I was planning to look into pretty much that same plan myself - with post-Scotcon leave booked I am unlikely to be able to get the Friday off for travelling down so I was looking at an early-doors train down as a possibility. (I am back on as a possible at the moment as repairs did not cost what I thought they might (A narratively handy source of Los-tech parts was available to refit the system) I shall pass on whatever I find out in terms of travel costs if you like. Hmmm. If I go, this will zap my cash for Scotcon. Hmmmm. But I do fancy a jaunt. Hmmm. Anyone know of cheap hotels? Just for Saturday night.

Check the ibis just across from the Holiday Inn/train station.

Between what I have paid out on the boiler, and the sudden realisation that I still need to allow some money for my jaunt down to the parentals in Surrey, and then Scotcon close on the heels I am having difficulty making the numbers work budgetwise. I am going to look further into my options in the next couple of days and see if I can make it work but it is possible that I won't be able to make it after all.

I've been working the numbers and doing some looking into travel options for the last couple of days but I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that I am unlikely to be able to make the numbers work out favourably for coming down for this. The boiler repair has cut an unexpected and unwelcome chunk out of the budget. The upshot is that it is unlikely I can afford to make it down for this unfortunately. It is annoying because I was looking forward to it, but I just don't think it is going to be manageable.

I'm still trying to work this out. Buses (National Express/Megabus) wouldn't get me in until mid afternoon after 7-9 hours travel. Trains seem pricey. Checking flights...

I must make a command decision on this soon. There is a family thing that is competing with this in my mind and which I might feel guilty about not doing if I come to Birmingham instead (and less than a week before ScotCon). Hmmm... Probably safe to say I'm an 'unlikely' for this one at the mo.
