I'm still not feeling too great. I went through 35 packets of tissues yesterday. Quick walk round the block to determine if nose is drying up or not.

Legs like sticks of piss but the nose appears to be drying up so probably a 48-hour bug then. I shall risk the train today and see how I feel on Saturday. Tis the way with lurgy. Could be rotten or could be 100% fine but I would hate to wake up tomorrow, feel ok and miss the fun. If I am rough on Saturday I'll skip the comic mart.

The "mistake" on the Burns/Turnbull room booking. Apparently this isn't the first time it's happened either..... Hmmm... If this is what I think it is, I think I may have some inkling of what this means.... Sounds like a good time was had in general though, and judging by the text messages I have had this evening the good times are continuing to roll.... Karl

Ralph and Andy appeared to be competing in their eating and drinking stakes as to which could make the night in bed the more unpleasant to the other, acoustically and aromatically. When I left Las Iguanas just after 8, the cocktails were still going strong. I picked up a first-printing Marvel US Transformers #1 for £2 at the comic mart. On getting home, I find that the one in my collection is also first printing and in slightly better condition, so today's one will be up for grabs at ScotCon. Martin

According to text messages Burns and Turnbull were drinkingBurns' appreciation of Birmingham diminished when he discovered the non availability of Chicken Pakora.
This morning Burns & Turnbull are described as being "Fragile" & "Delicate" respectively.

I was still feeling a bit rough on Friday but was ok on Saturday morning so I am glad I made it down. Good to see everyone and enjoyed myself immensely. Every meet now has to involve a Pretender named bar.
My body, however, is punishing me for being silly enough to be drinking multi-coloured things just after a bout of lurgy. It seemed such a good idea at the time...

The pretender Iguanus played host where the barman served up drinks of Ethan Dachary. How any of us were standing in the morning was a wonder of our resilience.
I still remember the resounding disappointment of being unable to get into the karaoke bar. The music video that inspired that idea is unfortunately etched upon my brain....
Andy has confirmed that I agreed to draw at least two comics and that is the danger of these events....
We almost broke the fabric of reality by keeping everything informal, and as such every place we went they asked if we had booked. What would be informal about that?
It was a pleasure to hang out with all you guys and I look forward to the next time we all meet up!

Notes to myself for future reference:
1) Don't leave it till the last minute to PM Graham with your mobile number since there's no reason to expect the poor guy to do undertake a last-minute check of the forum for stragglers who weren't organised enough to get basic tasks done in good time,
2) Don't decide as you're walking out the door that the accumulated mouldy things put to one side for the compost heap really have to be taken outside there and then. Or if you do decide to spare the other half all that ickiness for when she gets up later and you won't be there to move it for her, do it earlier in the morning, so that getting your hands coated with yogurt and rotten fruit doesn't compel you to take a second shower to rid you of the stench and make you miss the train you intended to catch and leave you needing to take another that gets you there after the others have already met up. And write shorter sentences too.
Well, at least 1) is resolved for next time. I'm glad the rest of you seem to have enjoyed yourselves. I made it to the opening at 12:00-ish but was a wee bit lost, not seeing anything immediately Transformery and not being interested in the other wares.

I'm really sorry we missed you on Saturday, Tim! Next time, okay? Oh, and we can blame Marc for swooping in and buying every single Transformers comic at the mart as soon as we arrived whether he needed them or not! That's why there was nothing Transformery. Though one of use did get Care Bears #105...
