I can identify almost everyone in the photo but (shamefully) I can't remember which Pirrie brother is which and which username they each have (sorry boys, help me out) So from the left and going along the bottom row: Martin, Me, Marc Graham, Garry Bodsworth, Matt Marshall (Blueshift), Ralph Burns (TheDoctor), Ed Pirrie (Kingoji), Elliot Hopkins (Bertie) On the step are Andy Turnbull, Mark Stevenson, Tony Baker (Kosh Naranek) and Graham Thomson On his own at the top is Ben Pirrie (Kirei).

Sadly, the Purple intruder was a bit more blue than it should have been. We needed a second aftershock but the bar was running low.
A mighty beverage.

The Brothers Pirrie can be colour coded thusly: Ed = Blue. Ben = Black. We're notorious dribblers. If our drinks didn't match our clothes it would have been a technocolour disaster!

So the Battle Report for the weekend.
Met up with Ralph at Waverley for the train to Brum. On the train down I let/made/ Ralph read the latest issues of the TF ongoing. Queue many outbursts of rage/apoplexy/confusion and indignation.
Hit Birmingham at just after 6 and met Phil and Matt (Blueshift) at the station and made our way to the hotel. Getting to ride in what must be Birmingham's most popular outdoor toilet the lift at the back of Debenhams in the Bullring.
The doors opened and we saw the floor was dirty and a bit damaged and stepped in this potential coffin and the doors shut trapping us in the urine soaked room. I swear blind it was like being punched. Thankfully it was only a couple of floors. We made our way to the hotel and checked in.
Turns out a twin room in the Ibis is a double bed and a knowing smirk from the staff.
Bags were dumped and we went out for dinner, a fine chinese meal. Where Phil showed Ralph a photo of Kreon Mirage driving his vehicle self and forever doomed Ralph to buying Kreos.
Went back to the hotel for a few drinks before calling it a night.
Up early doors for a sumptuous breakfast of Bakewell tart and tea (courtesy of Phil's good lady wife) and met up with the assembled ranks at New Street.
A toy was given to Martin and in a rare occurrence it was one he actually has stated he will keep (Kreon minifig of Optimus Prime). Ralph inflicted Exiles on an unsuspecting Garry Bodsworth, in what was the most evil event of the day.
When all were assembled we hit the comic mart. Epic victories for Martin (first print US Transformers 1 for £2), me (Captain Planet UK special, issues of Oink, and assorted Marvel US Transformers comics), Ralph got It's Wicked. Officially the single worst comic of Marvel UK.
We retired to a Weatherspoons for a bite to eat, some drinks and a mighty quiz from Graham. Up for grabs in each round were a single Firecon or Sparkler Mini-Bot. Winners were Garry (2), Andy (2), Ralph (1) and Elliott (1).
We then headed back to the Ibis as base camp, a detour was made to Nostalgia. We said goodbye to Tony and Marc who were off to the UFC that evening. A few hours later Phil made his departure as well.
Playdoh was mucked about with, comics were read and then we went out for dinner.
We hit Iquanas due to it's name. Food was consumed and we all imbibed many cocktails. The apple dapple and the Spicy Daiquiri being the highlights. The Daiquiri had a manual on how to assemble it. Very impressive.
We ended up in another Weatherspoons for more cocktails and shots and the conversation offended three different groups sitting behind us so much they all left.
We were denied Karaoke at a local bar. Which put gas at a peep. We retired to the Ibis and continued drinking until tiredness overtook us. Ralph went on an unsuccessful trip for pakora.
The Sunday morning saw the last survivors wander birmingham looking half dead until it was time to drive off/get trains.
A fantastic weekend and I strongly advise anyone who missed out this time to turn up to the next BIG.

Sorry we missed the evening's jolly japes, sounds like you all had a blast. We did have a good time at the UFC, though. The event lasted about 4 1/2 hours with some very good fights, quick finishes and hard fought 3-round slobberknockers. Marc tells me we can be seen on-screen for a split second about 70 minutes in to the PPV (that I SKY-plussed while we were away), so I'll watch that when I get back in tonight. Looking forward to ScotCon now.

It sounds like it was a crackingly good time. I shall definitely have to try to arrange things so I can come to the next one when/should it occur.
