Bit of a blow that the hotel is already fully booked! Still, there are hundreds of others in the locality.

Having consulted Google maps I've discovered the hotel we're in is in Chinatown almost next door to the restaurant I wanted to go to. RESULT

Its a nice hotel, stayed there for Saturday night during AA. Tiny tiny rooms but well organised and comfortable with a strange reception/bar in the lobby.

I am not a fan of the gunk in many Chinese meals. So I usually stick to the lemon chicken or go for the fabulous buffet option where I can ply many chips, rice, etc on a plate and drown them in curry sauce.

Fair enough.... Chinese can be a bit variable, especially if you've just had dodgy take out.
Options:
We go in, you see if you like what we have and if necessary we pick you a pizza/supper up later.
We go in, you have a drink and we eat, and we pick you a pizza/supper up later
We go somewhere else
To sweaten the deal I should mention I will be bringing something consumable with me....
