Gotta resist. Funds are reserved for the new TMNT when they're out.
Sideswipe is a definite must.

My God, the amount of whining on that board. I must own every single one of these toys though, when's the release?

Those are either giant cards or tiny figures!

They are quite small, about the same size as Prime toys probably. Get used to it its the new deluxe.

SHOCKWAVE!!!!!!
Like the look of Jazz n'all.
I curse the smallness of recent deluxes though. Curse it I do!

Yes, I was overegging it a bit with "incredibly extensive retool". Still very clever though!
I wonder if such retooling is the flipside of smaller deluxes - more space in the mould for this kind of thing.

The smaller size of deluxes (and voyagers) would irk less if they had not coincided with a price rise.

Soundwave's Voyager sized? Well now I'm interested! The FoC figs are really looking nice. Ultra Magnus is indeed the better use of the mold. Wonder if they'll do a Prowl.

Does anyone know why Soundwave is rocking the Convoy rifle? I wonder if it comes up in the game.

Soundwave beat him up behind the bike shed and took it by force during breaktime at school.

Shockwave is mostly working for me, but does he have two hands and a gun? That's not quite right. An easy miss then. -Ralph

Is anybody as excited as I am about this FOC Bruticus? Is anybody as amused as I am by the thread-title?
I have been waiting for a long, long time for an authentic combiner with five distinct robots. This hasn't been done since the three-bot combiners of the BW lore, right?
And the Combaticons - love them.
Definitely getting my hands on these :-)

I like em but not sure which version to get, I do like the G2 one. SDCC is nice but both will probably be pricey. The retail version is my least favourite so I dont know if I'll end up getting any of them.

Do the Energon combiners not count as "authentic"? They had 5 figures, each with separate alt-modes and robot modes.

I cannot wait to get my grubby mitts on a version, I would prefer SDCC but that very much depends how much they go for.

Hopefully a friend of mine is going to swing me a SDCC one as they go to the event every year. Considering asking if they can manage a second...

I suspect Pete's distinction comes from the Energon combiners each having a unique centre robot and two sets of two of the same mould in different colours. I'm looking forward to seeing these IRL so that I can finally decide if they look fantastic or ludicrous. -Nick

Ah yeah, I guess that makes sense.
Are the limbs interchangeable though? Aren't Blast Off/Vortex only usable as arms?

I have no urge to own the set, but I am genuinely curious as to how it will look in the plastic.

I thought the energon figures had only three distinct seperate molds - two of which were doubled and recolored... EDIT: 5 seconds later I read... Yes...Nick is right. As for me - I'm getting th retail version. They look fine to me, colors and all. Pete

I just hope they'll do some other teams, such as the Terrorcons. Wouldn't say no to the Protectobots or Stunticons either. I think the Combaticons look good, but not sure I'll be picking up this particular team.

I am waiting for in-hand pictures as I find the arms weird (I always think of Bruticus with hunched shoulders and they've gone the opposite way!).
I don't think I'll be getting them, but if I were to I'd prefer the G2 set followed by retail. I am more up for brighter coloured toys these days.

They look better in person than the official photos, but the arm arrangement is still a bit odd.

I actually liked the Energon combiners - the twinning of the molds can give them some nice symmetry by pairing up the sets of limbs.
I've not really found myself enthused by the FOC Combaticons. Probably because most of the alt-modes aren't really doing much for me. Brawl would look better to me if he looked more hover-tank ish, rather than just a block that floats "because" and Blast Off's alt-mode really doesn't do much for me at all. Vortex's helicopter mode has grown on me though - I didn't really like it to begin with but it seems to have a certain charm.
Not really impressed enough with the combined mode to shell out five times what deluxes go for these days thought I don't think.

Well, I will admit that the price of Transformers is astronomical compared to relatively higher quality and lower priced Gundam kits...but..alas...what can you do?
I remember the days when a deluxe figure cost 10 USD and a mega class BW toy cost 15 USD...nowadays a small deluxe class figure costs 15 usd...wtf...
the economy sucks and the dollar is toast :-(
But FOC Bruticus still mesmerizes me... mainly because I've wanted a fully poseable set of Combaticons since I could remember.

When are they going to do more Classics?!
Any rumors anyone Mother Hubbers heard out there? We only need Trailbreaker to finish the '84 line-up of Autobot cars!
