Thanks - I've written to ask about that. Here's hoping.

Turns out I preordered Strongarm from Kapow, and now they don't have a listing for it. Order still exists and is 'processing'.
Exciting times.

I don't feel it is a boycott, a boycott is generally something aimed at effecting some sort of political change (refusing to pay water bills until the water company stops pumping human effluent into rivers, not purchasing fuels exported by a company based in a repressive regime stuff like that). This seems to me to be simply a sensible business decision - "it isn't economically viable for us to stock a given item because we can't sell it at a price which makes us a profit, especially given that we have to compete with the original manufacturer rapidly pivoting selling it at a lower price than is viable for us."
Seems fair enough to me - and probably sensible from the point of view of protecting Kapow's cashflow.
(Not that I feel I have a great deal of a "dog" in this one - I don't do a great deal of business with Kapow these days, and I'm not in the market for a second Titan price-point Transformer in the forseeable future. But for what it is worth, that's what this dispassionate observer thinks.

Oh, ok. Slightly different situation to the way I understood it. (Still not actually a boycott - they don't seem to be suggesting people should not purchase Hasbro products, just that they shouldn't preorder a particular one).
Eh. Bottom line, we have - for the moment - relatively free speech in this country. They've got the right to assert their point, and everyone has a right to decide whether they want to listen to them and what (if anything) they want to do about it. It isn't likely to be at all helpful to their business relationship with Hasbro, but in fairness I get the impression that their business relationship is already sufficiently poor that it might not really make any odds...
I'll be honest, in the current economy I'd not really be looking at tie-ing up nearly an entire months disposable spending in a pre-order for a children's plastic robot toy. And even if I was, it is the kind of thing I could only contemplate doing about once every six months, and I've just backed the Macross II Bluray kickstarter - so it isn't even a question that I'd be entertaining till about July (another reason I don't have a "dog" in this issue).

It's not a boycott. It's just a store deciding not to stock *one item* from *one toy line*. The store is still selling Transformers and other items made by Hasbro.
Beware of youtube nonsense.

I've checked out Kapow! once or twice, but their stock levels always seem to be ridiculously low, even on figures that are readily available elsewhere. There's nothing more annoying than seeing a figure displayed on a website, going to click on purchase, then noticing 'Out of Stock' below it. There are figures on Kapow! that have long been unavailable, and highly unlikely that they'll ever get them back in stock, yet they still display them.

Kapow kicking off on FB about most of their 40th anniversary Blaster/Soundwave stock arriving with them in knackered packaging. Oh dear.
