I think Rodgers is the man to fix Liverpool but results don't seem to be going his way right now.
I'd also love it for Liverpool fans and club members to shut up about referees and how they never get anything. It's getting tedious and I've seen enough games where Jamie Carragher has avoided yellow and red cards to argue the other way.

Well, I'd look at Man Utd last night and wonder how they avoided any red cards for a start! Think Liverpool will take a while to turn around - top teams these days are so ahead in money stakes it'll be hard to get back on near equal footing.

Yeah it was a bit much.
I think at the end of the season we will see Arsene Wenger depart Arsenal. They are going nowhere now, and the fans are finally starting to lose patience.

Fergie has weighed in on the Chelsea racism allegations saying he doesn't believe them. Could this come back to haunt him?
Birmingham are knackered as well, just saw that Gianni Palladini is part of a consortium trying to buy them. If i was a Birmingham fan it would be complete squeaky bum time. I watched that QPR documentary film, and would not have that man anywhere near a football club.
In other exciting news - the fate of Craig Levein, incumbent Scotland manager will be decided today, allegedly. I hope he goes, he's been dreadful for us. Worse than Berti Bomb Scare (Berti Vogts).

Funny how Fergies opinions on stuff vary based on who is making any accusation.
Arsenal are ran okay as a business, as a team they are underachieving, albeit in the era of mega-spenders. If they kept some of their stars they'd surely have been expected to win more, its the willingness to let them go that's their downfall (and Wengers I suspect).
Dunno what to think about Levein, Ireland are starting to creak under Trappatoni, but I doubt they can afford to pay the guy off.

It's more when they had those players and just needed to add 1 or 2 more - when they still had Fabregas, Nasri and Van Persie. That season the Premier League was open to them if they'd just bought a decent keeper and a centre half. That was all that team needed. Wenger didn't and they blew it.
He fielded a team with no strikers against the Czech republic. Since that day Levein was a marked man in Scotland. Even Berti always had at least one forward in the role. I think Trappatoni will leave of his own volition soon enough. It's a shame but the team selections were a bit odd, and he really needed to bring in the younger players two years ago.

Turns out Monday now for the Levein decision. Which would suggest that it's not a clear decision either way.

There is nothing like decisiveness when it comes to national Football Associations I reckon.

Indeed not.
Listened to the Man U/Arsenal game. What in the wide world of sports was Wenger doing leaving Walcott on the bench?

Disappointed Liverpool didn't beat Newcastle (I hate pardew so so much). Suarez is unplayable at times.
There was the slight distraction of Derry being in the cup final, going ahead, level, ahead, level extra time and winning.....
...few sore heads last night that's for sure....

Levein is gone.
The game that did for him was the Czech republic where we played without a striker. The fans turned on him then.

Interesting game between Liverpool and Chelsea - I'd have liked all 3 points - but I guess a draw isn't a terrible result.
John Terry was very unfortunate to get injured basically by one of his own team sending Suarez tumbling into him (I await calls of "Suarez dived").

Barely paid attention to football last night - despite ostensibly being out to watch the game with my cousin. Was a little surprised (but not much) to see Chelsea dump their management - then even more surprised to see Rafa brought in as temporary manager? What?

I know!! Mind you Rafa is just seat-warming until Abramovich can convince Guardiola to come to Chelsea.

Yeah, Rafa seems like a good fit given the situation. Non of the top tier managers were going to leave their current clubs just to be replaced at Chelsea in 6 months.

Wow, sounds like we all avoided a boring "Super Sunday" by attending Scotcon.
At least the table football was good! (Who am I kidding - I was incredible!)

Been a bumpy while for Liverpool over the Christmas period, looking good for them today 3-0 up at half-time with QPR. Really struggling to find consistency this season, what this means for the long term of Rodgers I don't know - but even though he surely deserves time, he needs to be getting the team closer to the European spots, Europa spot should be within the grasp of this squad (lack of options in attack being a self-made problem in my book).

Good win for you today, although a few decisions went in your favour.
Not sure if Sturridge will be a good buy though, he hasn't really been any good since he was on loan at Bolton.

Not convinced by Sturridge, didn't watch the cup game, but heard/read about some decisions going Liverpool's way.
Looks like another season of rebuilding, already league dividing up into teams with a sniff and a chasm behind where the chase for Europe will take place.
Messi winning top player award again - whether or not he deserves 4 of them, I'm not quite sure though....

I have been watching considerably less football, Liverpool's dire form and performance makes it easier. Quite frustrating as they should be improved at this point.
If my Tv has football it will probably be me playing FIFA. Really bad season for Liverpool....
Just cancelled my Sky subscription, spending so much time in Belfast in any case!

First ever trip to Fulham tonight... the ground has a somewhat antiquated charm but is mainly just shit. And it's in London, but nowhere near a tube stop, madness!

Ah the madness of Transfer deadline day is upon us.
Nice to see Beckham back playing even if is for PSG, nice gesture ensuring his salary is paid to a Parisian children's charity instead of him.

Hull have resigned one and got two more in on loan. Tis good news I think. Though as always another striker is probably needed.
Liverpools form is just terrible, for ever good game or performance there's a nightmare. The fact they are somehow closing in on fourth when Spurs and Everton appear to be doing quite well baffles me.

I think because Everton have been either winning or losing games, same with Spurs. Liverpool seem to eke out points here and there.
I can see the owner's giving him next season, but they have got to get some consistency.

Didn't think Liverpool would be in the game at all tonight. Decent comeback but they left themselves too much to do. Tottenham were okay, but I thought they could have just as easily lost that game.

Feel bad for Carragher, not the way to play your last European game. Overall though it was a second good performance in a row.
They need to be shooting on target more though. A Month ago I wouldn't have believed I would be saying this, but it is scary how much the team misses Sturridge when he doesn't play.
