When I saw it it was astonishing..... in more ways than one.....

It is honestly hard to describe. It was worth a fiver in the sale. It is truly astonishing. It was both wonderful and terrible at the same time. It is utterly mindboggling in its shear strangeness. It is beyond such terms as 'good' or 'bad' and merely...is. In other news, heard the first half of Seven Keys to Doomsday last night and loved it. My faith in Uncle Tewwance has been restored. -Ralph

Best bit was the Emperor Dalek bollocking the Doctor for not showing the appropriate amount of fear and distress. Trevor Martin was a good Doctor, to my surprise. The Curse of the Daleks was also quite enjoyable (it being the uber-obscure 1965 play). Very dated but still a good romp. Michael Praed sounds uncannily like Paul McGann. -Ralph

Trevor Martin was a good Doctor, to my surprise. It has a decent reputation and I have always been curious but I have yet to hear the audio version (and obviously haven't seen the theatrical performance.) The fact that it has an Dalek Emperor who is prissy about his reputation does make it appeal to me a bit more. Is that the Doctor-less one? If it is I remember thinking that the synopsis I read of it sounded like it was reasonably interesting. Karl

I am listening to Primeval, it is great so far!
I have decided my spare copy will go to a friend for Christmas, because it is sealed. Now I feel less guilty since it doesn't seem to be bobbins

Four Doctors has been put aside to be listened to at the weekend once work related nonsense is out of the way.
This evening I will begin my regularly scheduled listen to The Chimes of Midnight. One episode a night so that I finish on the evening of Christmas Eve.
Just finished Jubilee - good story, with some trenchant comment about the trivialisation of evil. It also has some great stuff for Evelyn Smythe, and the wonderful Maggie Stables always works so well with Colin Baker.

Jubilee is a bit overwrought and in need of a good trimming, but has some nice elements in it.
Enjoyed The Four Doctors immensely. Much better than I expected for a freebie.

I listened to Live 34 last night. I'm in two minds. On the one hand it was very experimental, and I always appreciate a good experiment. Rather than a traditional audio drama, it was structured as a story told via four radio broadcasts - 2 live ones and two documentries. It does work, though because of the way it is told, the Doctor and co are barely in it.
Unfortunately the plot is very wafer-thin, a standard 'evil corrupt regime' tale which could literally have been set anywhere. For some reason Ace is blowing up entire buildings just to gain access to them (really?) and the Doctor plays the part of Gerry Adams. Very odd.

Just recieved a huge package of CDs from Big Finish, including all the Stageplays, Masters of War, Arrangements for War, and the four Excelsis stories.
I already have the first Excelsis CD (Excelsis Dawns, 2 CDs) so if anyone wants my spare sealed copy, you can have it for a fiver including p&p. It has Peter Davison and Anthony Head in it.
