Doom Coalition 3 Overall - decent but not fantastic. Only heard the first Doom Coalition, which started well enough but I wasn't so sure about the end of. I didn't feel that The Eleven had legs as an ongoing villain, so I was a bit surprised that he eludes capture at the end to rattle out into the universe some more. He seemed a bit played out even at that stage. Not that he had been a bad villain by any means, just seemed to lack anywhere else to go.

Nick Briggs on his FB mentioned that BF's DW licence has been extended to 2025. As they started in 1999 that would equal the duration of the original TV show!

That is good news.
Nice to see spin-off and ancillary media going strong.

I have felt compelled to relisten to The Stageplays.
THE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE is as 'amazing' as I remember.

First time round I thought it was awful but on a second listening I really enjoyed it, perhaps because I knew what I was getting this time. Also good to hear Uncle Tewwance in the extras.
Zog must return.
Re-appraisal of SEVEN KEYS TO DOOMSDAY begins later. I don't remember it being being that great but the recent documentary about the stage version has prompted me to try it again.

Having just read the Trevor Martin articles in DWM I must make time to listen.

Hmmm. My opinion stands. Hate to say it, but Martin was not good as the Doctor, at least on audio as we have here. He may have been great on stage.

10th Doctor and Rose release was sadly very boring. Oh well. 1st ep was ok (decent idea but the 'twist' was guessable 30 seconds in) though I still don't care about Rose's mum. My attention drifted a lot during the other two stories. The 10 and Donna release was much better.

Jago & Litefoot was good but sad. Not much of the series left to listen to now. Picked up CYBERMAN in the 99p. That is good stuff. Halfway through the Bradley DW box set. He is much better when the role is written properly (sorry, Moffat just got Doc 1 wrong) though he. Does. Do. Breathless. Acting. A. Lot. Which. Can. Get. Very. Wearing. On. Audio. The chap playing the First Master is blowing him off the imaginary screen though. -Ralph

Bradley sounds close to death throughout. Always. Out. Of. Breath.
I. Am. Known. As. The. Doc. Tor.
He is awful!

Budgeting for Doom Coalition in March I think. Ralph needs more McGann but I have plenty of War Doctor yet to hear and I want to space that out over a couple of months more before I return to Doctor 8. Don't want to burn through a whole Doctor's era too quickly!

I have the other three War Doctor audios still to listen to - for exactly those reasons. Maybe one every couple of months.

I've been doing a bit of catching up lately, though still have about 16 unlistened-to releases on the pile.
I thought the Damaged Goods adaptation was excellent, it felt like they were pulling out all the stops. Maybe a little bit rushed towards the end, but acting, music, everything production-wise was great.
The Girl Who Never Was was quite good fun.
Last of the Cybermen was a bit frustrating - the 6th Doctor / Jaimie dynamic was great, I could have more of that, and there were _some_ good ideas but it was dragged down by a needlessly complicated story.
Ringpullworld I enjoyed a lot.
The Stones of Venice was a mixed bag, some nice ideas and atmosphere though.

Not heard Damaged Goods yet - it is in my "to listen to" pile, but I need to get the Ipad synched up with the current computer and get it transferred across. Stones of Venice I rather enjoy. It has a nicely odd feel to it - in places it feels like it could be a Hinchcliffe-era story, but it is a lot of fun to listen to I think. Karl

BF have another '99 for 99p' sale on again. Most of it is same productions as last time but some other stuff has been added. Snagged the back half of McGann's first series which I had heard on BBC Radio 7 but do not have. It will be good to hear 'Human Resources' again in particular.
