Same here. That they are still trying to shift it two years later with only 500 copies available suggests the pricing is a problem especially as the Sainsburgeries/HMV vinyl releases sold out on the day of release*.

Clearly Big Finish didn't think there would be a huge market for these, so they made few for an expensive price, but clearly overestimated how much people would pay. Knowing what they know now, they'd probably do it differently, problem is that if they do similar releases with a larger print run at a cheaper price, it devalues the existing ones and people will never pay the top prices for the existing stock.

Yup.
I would just think by this point they would just cut their losses and knock them down to a price where they will sell to clear the warehouse space. I understand why they would be pricey but not at the 'sharp intake of breath' amount they are, even on discount.
BF did quickly sell out of their vinyl version of 'The Light at The End' though that was at the height of 50th anniversary fever and also benefited from extra novelty value for being their first release in that format.

In other news, I have now heard s1-3 of Gallifrey. It may be the most Gary Russell thing imaginable.

Absolutely, which is why I think putting them down to £50-60 would strike the right balance.

Ignore Blueshift. Kingmaker is ok but THE NATURAL HISTORY OF FEAR is the one to go for if you just go for one! Well on CD, anyway. Most of my, er, 649 BF releases (not counting some books and CD's that don't have download versions) are digital. Exceptions made only for some boxsets. I just don't have the room!

I would third the recommendations on Natural History of Fear. Very good story, and one that makes brilliant use of the audio medium. Absolutely the one to snag I'd say.

Tom stories confirmed through to 2021. Some of them feature...Adric! www.bigfinish.com/news/v/the-fourth-doctor-continuesBy then Tom will have been the Doctor on audio longer than he was the Doctor on TV. Also prepare for your mind to melt...Tom and Lalla in the same photograph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had assumed they had recorded their bits for these stories separately. -Ralph

I am up to the first episode of series 5 and have also heard the 'Fourth Doctor' boxset. BF crank out so much stuff that I leave the 4th Doctor stuff until it pops up in sales. Tom has got better as he has went along.
It is nice to know many TomDoc stories lie in my future at some point.

Tom has got better as he has went along. I think so too - in fact I noticed a change in his voice between the Missing Adventure adaptations and series 3. The huskiness went and all of a sudden he really sounded like his old self. It's like they started doing vocal work with him to help his voice.

I am amazed that new stories are being done for the NA era. We've had some novel adaptations and so I never expected anything else. These will be the first NA's since 1999*!!!! The NA era is as 'real' to me as any of the telly runs! I had assumed it was dead and done.
-Ralph
*Last NA with The Doctor was in 1997 though the range continued for two years thereafter.

This is really good news! I enjoyed the Damaged Goods adaptation a lot, and those companions put in good performances. And comic adaptations! Amazing. I think this is the most excited I've been for some box set preorders in a long time.
