Carzap and GB Blackrock kreon is the first one sent out. Got mine, today.
Gorgeous headsculpt.
I guess while it isn't conclusive (there isn't enough precedence to really rule one way or another), this is a minor strike against the mystery bonus figure being Windbreaker.

They give no instructions of how to build the gas pump. Only two poor quality photos (one from the front, and one at a side angle), leaving much of it to guess work.

So this image has come out of Botcon: Which has lead to the speculation that next years sub figures will be to the theme of the Mayhem Attack Squad. Would anybody care to hazard a guess as to which figures would be used? Does this mean that flywheels is still a likelihood? What would folks WANT to see? Personally the grail would be Carnivac, but I don't think that there has ever been a suitable figure they could repurpose for him since the original...

Could easily be the mayhem suppression squad, too.

The "Codename B.A.T.S" seems somewhat reminiscent of Cobra's Battle Android Troopers....

Can't say I'm not overly fussed with those - largely because I'm not prepared to pay the price for them - but Bludgeon at least looks interesting. And hopefully won't be putting a dampener on the hoped for (by me, at least - and that's what counts, yes?) Pretender Bludgeon in the Pretender Wars following the Titan Wars.
Of course, I say he's not interesting now, and then he'll feature in MTMTE and I'll be kicking myself for not bothering, just like I am with Chromedome...

I like Universe Ramjet there, of the others only Needlenose is doing much for me. Windsweeper looks kind of okay, and I do have a soft sport for TriggerBots/Cons.
Spinister again so soon? And we've surely had enough good Bludgeon homages by now?

I am, again, both disappointed and relieved. The Mayhems for me as a kid pipped the Wreckers in coolness, and if this had been closer to one of the actual line-ups I may have been all in. But two of them aren't even Mayhems (well, one is if you count fun-pub) and a third has, as was already mentioned, been done often and better already.
I *do* like and want Spinister and Needlenose, and I cross my fingers that they would each get a new head (ironically Fireflight's head looks more like Spinister than Needlenose), and I guess I MIGHT be persuaded if the Triggercons were retooled to actually come with honking great guns. Especially Ruckus, who though I don't share other's enthusiasm for that use of the mold has a colour scheme which tickles my fancy.
I'd also expect that the secret final figure will be a Legends to complement the combiner. Perhaps Barrage from Bombshell.
*STILL* no Flywheels!

Personal opinion is they should have used cyclonus with new heads as thunderwing. Normal bot as inner robot, combined bot as shell. Then supplement them with Bludgeon from Brawl when it becomes available.

One of the many podcasts of last week (I listen to too many now, it might have been Seibertron's Twincast) had an interview with Pete Sinclair, and he said that Flywheels wasn't something they looked at for this year. Partly because of the problems with the Blitzwing mould and partly (sounds fishy to me this) that they didn't feel it necessary to see the Duocons as a pair. He was asked about whether it would be a future release and he was non-committal about it, which could be read either way I suppose. He said people would assume they'd do both as they're just a pair, but that they pick interesting characters to use without thinking about that. If there'd been three or more Duocons, no one would expect them to do them all. Sounded like flannel to me.

Well, I guess I kinda like Needlenose and Spinister. But... I think they're reaching here, honestly.
And that's kinda stupid reasoning on Flywheels.
Ah well... where's my Carnivac and Catilla? I needs a Catilla.

The only part of pete's reasoning that's credible is that the blitzwing mold's issue makes it rubbish. But even then, that hasn't stop them from using horrid molds.

He did also say that it's taken them several years sometimes to complete sets. I forget the example he gave. So I would guess Flywheels will surface, but in a year or two. Based on the interest I think if they genuinely hadn't considered it they would be now.

I just honestly can't see how they could have looked at Battletrap from *Springer* of all characters and NOT instantly thought of Flywheels!

They say Universe Skywarp in that image, but it's clearly Armada. The colours and the fin on the head make him look closer to the original than even Starscream does.

Bludgeon is the more important character and needs to be in the middle as the team leader. But yes, he's be good using Brawl.

I disagree that he needs to be the core. There's nothing that says the core/head of a combiner NEEDS to be the leader. Scrapper was leader, and he was a leg.
I'd rather more appropriate mold choices, myself. Honestly, I'd rather NOT do the combiner, and flat out use more appropriate molds where available, like gen legends megatron for Bludgeon's inner bot. Cyb Backstop for Stranglehold, and I don't know who for octopunch.
Though I do see what FP was thinking. Onslaught is very IDW for Bludgeon. He's huge, and has his silhouette. Also, his colors.

I think I'm skipping the subservice next year. They all leave me feeling distinctly whelmed.
Bludgeon- Has already been done better, with a more accurate alt mode, and a more classic robot. It does look nice, and I miiiight get it when it hits the store. But i also predict by then, I'll be every bit as sick of the hotspot/onslaught mold as I am everything else.
Needlenose- Feels very forced. Might get it when it hits the club store, but if not... No big loss.
Windsweeper- terrible mold choice. Very forced. Also, never felt a burning need for him. Pass.
Ruckus- i know the mold was designed with him in mind, but I think Swindle would have worked sooooo much better. Hasbro bailed because they didn't feel it read as Ruckus very well. Also, I never felt a need to have Ruckus. Pass.
Spinister- bit of a sidestep. It's neither worse, nor better than the last Spinister. So the last one is just fine for me. Plus, it's the only version of that mold I own, where as I already own TWO of Bravo, and will have three more by the time this comes out. Pass
Also, I never felt terribly interested in a combining mayhem attack squad. I'd have been way more excited if they used more appropriate non-combining molds. Bludgeon- Gen Legends megatron in inner bot colors (as an unofficial companion piece to rotf bludgeon) Ruckus- cyb brushguard Needlenose- the "fixed" version of cyb thundercracker And so on.

I have to confess that the more I look at these the more I like them. The only one I'm actively disinterested in is bludgeon.
I also note that none of the mock-ups have new heads, and the sub figures usually throw in two or three. The render of Bludgeon has a poorly photoshopped visor onto onslaughts head, but that's it. So if Spinister and Needlenose, and even Windsweeper, got new heads I might be all in for that year and sell Bludgeon off later.

The more I look the more I like only Spinister.
Maybe that'll change if they get new heads, but...
