Perfect example of why I was so torn on getting the set or not. As much as I love garish colours here they would utterly fail to achieve the aim of the toy and I dont want it as is, but if they get the colour fixed as they said they will (and it doesnt come out to red or something else) then I will have to buy one.
But with FP and their relationship with Hasbro you just never know which way it will go so I don't like gambling with preorders.

Is that actually the name of the toy? Because if it is I think that it is a terrible name for a toy. Karl

Sadly it is not as good an unintentional comedy name as Nexus Maximus. I checked.

At this risk of sounding as dense as I am, who is Herr Doktor Doofenshmirtz?

He is the main "villain" from Phineas & Ferb. He is intent on taking over the tri-state area, usually by attempting to overthrow his brother Roger, whom is the mayor, usually involving some complex backstory (such as being made to stand in as a garden gnome when theirs was repossessed as a kid, with his only companion being the moon. Or when he was raised by ocelots. Or when he was born, neither of his parents bothered to show up.) He creates a machine called an inator, that fires a beam to accomplish... things... "Behold, Perry the Platypus! My Dance-inator! Because everyone knows you can't defeat evil while dancing!" phineasandferb.wikia.com/wiki/Heinz_DoofenshmirtzYoutube an episode of phineas & ferb sometime. It's by far and beyond the best thing disney does.

It doesn't look terrible, but Rewind as a tank doesn't work for me. Frenzy and Rumble sure, they're all about the destruction, but Rewind, especially post-MTMTE...? If they could have retooled it so that instead of gun barrels the tank mode had communications equipment, a satellite dish and something else then that might have worked. -Jim

Why does the box call Rampage a Maximal?
|
|
|
Post by Toph on May 24, 2014 7:37:08 GMT
Because he was, and technically *is* a Maximal.
The Maximals created him as an experiment, and he never had a predacon shell program installed. And by this point, he has yet to meet Megatron to coerce him to pledge allegiance to the predacons.
Quickstrike likewise is technically a maximal turncoat, also never having been installed with a predacon shell program.

So pre-Beast Wars, Transmutate's name was Transmutate, and everyone knew her and they just forgot about her after that?

Post by The Doctor on May 24, 2014 8:26:07 GMT
Yes, I know about the character but this is a pre-order for a $60 Transformers toy. Does it have an alt mode? Why wouldn't that be advertised on a pre-order page! I don't understand. -Ralphs

So pre-Beast Wars, Transmutate's name was Transmutate, and everyone knew her and they just forgot about her after that? No, but she was never given a name before. The audience at large wouldnt immediately link "Roadracer" as "Prebeast Transmutate." (That is not their name for her, i just made it up as an example) Likewise Rampage was not Rampage until Megatron named him as such. But they are still calling the toy that for recognizability. This is a trend with every Prebeast they've done, and it makes sense. So far, they've never used earth names in the actual fiction. Just for the toys and bios.

Forgot to mention, out of the blue yesterday, Transmutate showed up!
She's a really pretty figure, and her colors on that mold are far more gorgeous than they have any right to be. Prime Arcee's face is even more perfect for her than I thought it would be. They knocked this one out of the park.

Prime Arcee's face is even more perfect for her than I thought it would be. They knocked this one out of the park. I think it is an excellent figure as long as you can get over the idea of Transmutate being a really pretty, sleek robot. Yes, I know it's a 'pre-Beast Wars' figure, but honestly to me, that makes it even more macabre. It's a character whose sole role is to get brutally mentally handicapped in an accident at some point in the future. Uplifting! I honestly can't say I ever thought of Transmutate having a life before that episode, I assumed some of the protoforms were literally blob-like foetuses. Looks nice though!
