I have a handful of run-up to Christmas traditions - I have already begun them this year with "Muppet Christmas Carol" and the Snowed in city episode of "Mospeada" (It is the perfect Christmas episode - it has snow, shopping, romance, friendship and then the Inbit show up and start a fight like an alcoholic uncle on Christmas Day :-) ). Future elements of the Pre-christmas routine will include "Labyrinth" (not really Christmassy but I always end up watching it at this time of year), and "Romanesque" the penultimate episode of Macross - being as that is actually set at Christmas (it is all romantic and ties up the love-triangle and manages to fit in an epic mecha brawl as bonus content).
On the aural front, on Saturday I will be starting the annual listen to "The Chimes of Midnight", one episode a night to conclude on Christmas Eve.

Been really enjoying the various Cbeebies Christmas specials that have been on! The panto was excellent, and the Octonauts Christmas Special I'd have watched without the kids! I'm not kidding!

So far seen with Blaise, Grange Hill 1985 Christmas Special, Doc McStuffins, Spongebob Squarepants (2012), Sooty (various years inc the 2013 one with Brian Blessed), Hey, Arnold and the list is building. Seen a lot of the usual Christmas movies inc a few of the recent Hallmark offerings. List will have to come later .

And now the only Christmas Special ever to be banned for excessive violence!
It's the superb Futurama A Tale of Two Santas!

A Futurama Christmas special was banned? I didn't know about that.
Surely it can't be as violent as Die Hard.

I have to watch The Muppets and Blackadder Christmas Carols every year, along with two Charlie Brown specials I have on DVD. This year, I also watched a couple of more unusual choices, Thunderbirds and Terrahawks, and The Nightmare Before Christmas which I usually watch, but this year it was with my girlfriend who watches it every Christmas Eve. Likely to be a new Christmas tradition after buying and watching it last year, I watched The Box of Delights. (Patrick Troughton would have made a great Dumbledore if Harry Potter had been around thirty years earlier.) I intend watching Gremlins before Twelfth Night and possibly the BBC The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Sadly, Carry On Christmas and a Disney video are buried in the Cupboard of Doom.

Sky Box almost crammed full of Christmas movies. Not sure when I'll get round to watching all of them.

If anyone has Netflix then Home Alone 1&2 are on there, so are 3&4 I think, as well as Blackadders Christmas Carol, the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, The Office Christmas Specials, Extras Christmas special, Arthur Christmas and the animated version of A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey voicing Scrooge.
Men Behaving Badly Christmas Special on available for download on Sky from Gold on Demand, that's one of my personal favourites. Muppets Christmas Carol is available through Sky Movies on Demand as well. There's a SpongeBob Christmas special day coming up on one of the kids channels but I'll need to get back on which day it is.

And my word didn't that ruin Christmas. I have friends in B7 fandom who still have a grudge against the BBC for airing that one so close to Dec 25th.
Hmm. Might put that on tonight.
