Potentially 50-odd number #1's? Ffs. Have they not learned from DC's mistakes? You won't grab new reader that way. No one can afford to buy them all! -Ralph Doing the same as they did with Marvel Now and staggering them in waves apparently.

It makes me wonder...are they actually looking to gain new readers, or is this more about getting existing readers of Marvel Comics to try other titles they haven't been previously reading?
Karl (I don't know what DC were thinking when they did it, but I'm inclined to say whatever it was it didn't actually work)

Well that's what happens if the main title propelling a line-wide relaunch slips. Ho ho!

Just seen that Bendis is being the core writer post SW. I really don't like him & stopped buying Marvel because he was writing everything.

Well if you had already stopped buying Marvel anyway then you are no worse off.

Gah! Deadpool pish! Oh look, I'm breaking the fourth wall again! How fucking hilarious! I am a character with one joke which I will repeat over and over again because it's never been done anywhere else! Oh, and my speech had a fucking irritating font.

Just a quick question for anyone who's reading the Secret Wars reboot 'Event' (I'm avoiding spoilers and all info on it 'cos I plan to read it in due course in TPB)...
But, how good actually is it? As a story? As a reboot, if indeed that's what it is? Is it actually any good? Or is it, in fact, a load of old crusty underpants? Or somewhere in between?

Nevermind Ralph, that makes me fume. I pretty much despise Deadpool, except at the beginning of X-Men Origins Wolverine, oddly enough.

As a story? As a reboot, if indeed that's what it is? Is it actually any good? Or is it, in fact, a load of old crusty underpants? Or somewhere in between? I think the proof of that lies in the payoff, which is yet to come. To fully get it you need to have read some Avengers. Quite a lot of Avengers in fact. There's 5 Avengers volumes by Hickman, 4 New Avengers volumes and 4 Avengers: Time Runs out volumes. I'd say Avengers World v4 is also useful. At a push you might be able to get away with reading just the four Time Runs Out volume but as Ralph has said the start of the series makes no sense at all without having read them. The central limited series is 4 issues old now, the first of which..... is pre Secret Wars. I think the main limited series will be enlightened by reading some of the other limited series running. If I were you, I'd avoid the trades and sit this one out till it's printed in the Panini Collectors Edition comics that are in Smiths and the like. You'll get a larger feel of what's going on then. Annoyingly Panini UK has printed none of the Hickman stuff. In fact the first hint of Secret Wars in Panini was in the Spider Man that has just come off sale. As to where it's going..... I don't think it's a reboot as such, I suspect the ongoing Marvel continuity will be the same as it has ever been. What I see happening is some new elements, like Old Man Logan and Ultimate Spider Man, being introduced as a result of the collapse of the Marvel Multiverse.

That's very helpfull and interesting Big Phil, thank you. I hope it's all worth it. Hickman's F4 run was outstanding. I got a lot of catching up to do at any rate!

But we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth!
Seriously, that's an amazing run down, thank you Big Phil. Got some reading to do.... and I still haven't read MTMTE....

What if Gambit is Deadpool?!!
Some strange time travel nonsense could make it happen. (No less ludicrous than when he was speculated to be a potential Summers brother)
