Yeah, but these things just can't be predicted for all sorts of reasons I would not go into online. If it was down just to performance alone I would rate my chances but in these types of situations there are many moving parts at higher levels. I have a four day week coming up, which is for the best as my nerves are ******. -Ralph We will find out on the 17th what is happening. -Ralph

Work needed 8 people to jump at my level at work. 17 folk have asked to leave so we should be safe. Technically no final decisions taken until early May but I think we can take that to mean those of us left are safe.
Nerves have been fucked and pain everywhere.

Glad to hear that's worked out!
Not kind to leave people hanging like that for so long beforehand though.

Excellent news, but still an extraordinarily shitty thing for employers to do.

It is what it is. Other teams are waiting on their fates so I am limiting what I say in public spaces.
I like my job so happy with the result. I'd be lucky to find another employer which would let me work from home.

Currently on third round of throwing up in as many hours and evacuating torrents of clear liquid from my other end.
Very concerned this is a return of whatever it was that put me in hospital last year for a week. Never got over that completely. Really hoping it isn't. Thoughts appreciated.
I really want a long cold drink but think that would be fatal for my insides currently.

Thanks everyone.
A very rough night until midnight then I was finally asleep for a few hours. Feeling slightly better. Now to slowly rehydrate myself and hope it doesn't trigger everything off again.
We went out for lunch on Sunday with a friend who had been ill a few days before with the same symptoms. Suspect that's where I picked this up. N and Joy seem ok so probably just hit me harder with my underlying stuff.
Not a great time.

I am getting better gradually, but still running out of energy by mid-afternoon and feeling done in. I don't think it was some bug that I picked up, but another 'episode' of what has been going on for the last year. Same pattern of symptoms, same timescales and same recovery state. Will report to my GP on Monday.
While I was at my worst earlier this week I did get a letter to tell me when my next hospital investigation will be. Two more months to wait. Been waiting three just to find that out after being initially referred at the start of the year. My GP will be unimpressed as she asked for this to be done quick, especially given the last week.

Physical flare-up came on last evening and not much sleep. Pain level high. May have to abandon today's plans!

So, my dad has had Alzheimer's for a couple of years now, but spent the last two months in and out of hospital with various pains, only to discover that he has developed terminal cancer of the kidneys, lungs, and spine. He's been back home on palliative care for the past 2 weeks, but it is really starting to take its toll on my mum.
