I haven't posted in this thread yet, but I've just got my shifts for the month and it looks good for me for the friday and saturday. I don't know what the accommodation situation is, but assuming all the room at chez Martin is taken I will get a hotel for the friday night. Preferably near the station.

I'm hoping that I might be able to come up for one or other of the days, but won't be able to say for sure until pretty much the night before as I won't be back in the country until the 17th. I'll send Jame O a text either way. Richard A

I may not be able to come to Eastercon yet. Time will tell on whether the uni workload lightens or not. At the moment I plan on working over the Easter Holidays to get things done if they have#nt by then.
I have been looking forward to this for months and I'd be gutted if I can't go. We'll have to see.

OK - Doctor Who museum / Torchwood HQ / Pizza Express or pub in Cardiff Bay on the Saturday between 11 and 4 when Phil is in town.
Anyone want bowling later on the Friday or Saturday? 'Cos they have that in the Bay too.
If people want to go to Newport on the Sunday, the buses between my place and there are pretty good.
Hope Ken, James and Rich can make it, though I'm afraid I can't offer accommodation. Small house already likely to be fairly full with our Scottish friends. Plenty of decent hotels in Cardiff, though.

It does indeed sound like an excellent itinerary. Getting to quite like the bay area. Karl

I don't know if anyone else is interested, but I'd really like to do a tour of the Millennium Stadium. I had a quick look on their website and it all seems feasible enough.

In 2005 we scheduled a meet up for the Wales vs England World Cup qualifier! I can't believe how long ago that was, seems a lot less...

It'll make the station busy at certain times, but shouldn't affect the Bay area. May even be quieter than usual there as a result of the matches being on. Martin

Yeah, and there was no bother at all.
As for Sunday, I'd rather skip the Star Wars fair and have a wander about Cardiff if that's ok (probably scouting Who locations!). My budget for the weekend will only be just enough to cover food. If folk are doing the fair I can meet up with them later.
I'm up for Cardiff Bay. Lovely place. I really enjoyed St Fagan's last time. I wouldn't say no to going back or if there are any other interesting historical landmarks that are worth visiting, Martin?

I too would be happy to skip the Star Wars fair if there were others not bothered about attending. Could visit St Fagans again on Easter Sunday. They have a few special events on, including " What people ate in the Iron Age" and " Tasting everyday life in Tudor times". Or if it rains, we can always fall back on the National Museum. Another possibility for the Bay is getting a boat across to the Barrage. Martin

I'm fairly happy to go with the flow as regards what we do. The Star Wars fair isn't really my thing in all honesty, but just about everything else that has been suggested sounds great.
The idea of a boat across the bay does catch my attention though I have to say.

Last year one of the boat captains played a loud Dalek voice out of his loudspeakers every time he came in to dock, in order to attract punters, though he claimed it was to annoy David Tennant when he was having breakfast on the balcony of his penthouse flat.
Wonder if he's still doing it this year or if he's been told to shut up.

I've just sorted out the flights just now.
The scottish contingent will be arriving at Cardiff airport at 2215 on Friday and will be departing from the same airport at 1915 on Sunday.

OK, thanks, Andy. That being the case, I take it Nick will arrange his Good Friday church obligations on the Scottish end.
Still allows two full-ish days in town. Timetable seems to be going towards something like this:
Fri. 2pm - James O arrive - anyone else around on the Friday? Nigel?
Fri. afternoon - maybe do a tour of the Stadium. Any other suggestions?
Fri. 11pm-ish - Scots arrive (at my place? - can provide instructions for taxi), just in time for bed.
Sat. 11am - meet Phil at Central station - anyone else? Catch bendy bus to Cardiff Bay.
Between 11 and 4 - see inside Senedd and WMC (Doctor Who film locations), and Doctor Who exhibition. If weather good, get boat across to Barrage. Get food at some point (pub, pizza, etc.).
Sat. 4pm - see Phil safely off (though no need for everyone to leave Bay).
Sat. 4.30-6.30 - if people shout that they want me to try to book it, could do some bowling in Cardiff Bay.
Sat. 7pm - see James O safely off.
After 7pm - possibly go to my local pub for food/drink, and/or watch DVDs.
Sunday morning (before midday) - church for those so inclined, freedom of the city for those who aren't. (Bute Park behind the castle was Central Park in Doctor Who - can point in right direction.)
Sunday lunch/afternoon - if weather good, maybe get a taxi to St Fagans, otherwise pubs/museums in city centre, until Scots depart for home.
Hope that all sounds reasonable?

Sounds like a very good itinerary indeed.
I'd certainly second (or third, whatever we are on) that bowling sounds like a good idea. I do have to try to put on a better showing this time though...

I am well up for bowling!
Martin, the only time we'd be able to tour the stadium is 3pm, as it takes an hour and stops running at 4 on bank holidays. But if it could be worked out, great.

There's an online enquiry form to fill in, which I have. I think it's a bit of a let them know and then just turn up situation.
