Ta. When I'm back home I'll look at getting the Ironhide posts out of there and into here. A quick look at it now indicates time and a proper keyboard is needed for that job! Done. Hang on. Is Ironhide actually confirmed? The translation would allow room for interpretation. I like the look of this; if I had to choose I'd probably hold out for Ratchet as I have more attachment to the character, but if I could find the funds for both...

In the cool light of day I'm not as thrilled as I was. I'm sad there isn't more of a sled/marb. He looks a bit lanky. Stretched. Too tall. Still a great looking Ironhide.

Was he really that tall in the cartoon? Was he significantly bigger than the others? I don't remember it like that. It's ironic because his toy is so much shorter than the others.
I'm convinced the voodoo Ratchet torso/scale is based off this. Dodgy goings on somewhere.

He and Ratchet were a head and shoulder taller than the other cars in the cartoon.

Yes I'd rather they were the same height. They weren't that much taller.

I never owned a toy of Ratchet or Ironhide until the original G1 Classic Heroes sub-line, so by then the comics had already engrained into my mind what the pair should look like. Ergo, no issue for me.  |

I'd wanted the best of both worlds. Have my cake and eat it. 'G1y' van mode, Sunbowy robot mode AND a sled. Maybe I was asking for too much.
I just don't think he looks quite right. Never pleased, are we?!

I do hope this paves the way for a MP Ratchet. I am sure it will.
However, I will flip a table if Takara doesn't release a special edition of him with his red helmet/white crest comic colours. Really, I will.

Yes I'm thinking they've gone too cartoony as well. No MARB is a big shame. They've just gone in the wrong direction here. I'm all for Sunbow-like robot mode, but MPs should be more than just Sunbow, as we discussed recently. They should also be about the 'Ultimate' presentation of that character.

The blue windscreen is a bit weird, but it's a remarkable effort if the robot alone turns into the van and the MARB is just a separate display stand. He comes with a lot of accessories, too. With the added size, I have a feeling he's going to be a bit closer to someone like Starscream in price than the usual cars.
Not looking as lanky now either. Ironhide's a bit of a beast!

I don't think it is, but it looks mistransformed. The body proportions would work better if the torso was a fraction lower and overhung the pelvis slightly. He looks like his upper body has been pulled up higher than it should be.
