Does any popular character like Iron Man ever get dropped for long from the comics just because someone's written a good story that gives their life closure? Not on your nelly. Starman!

Well, one of them anyway. :-)
The other holders of the name less so.

Yeah, I figured that was probably the one you meant. I was just in one of my "mischeviously nit-picking" moods this morning. :-)
But, like "Sandman", it is one of those titles which means different things to different generations of comics readers I think. (Heck, different generations of UK comics readers likely don't automatically think of the same company, let alone the same character with that latter).

Iron Man Three provided total closure and indeed a perfect opportunity for Stark and Iron Man to drop out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I'd agree that IM3 gave some quite good character development to Stark. I'm less sure that the development his character as had is necessarily reflected over in the Avengers films though. On that we can agree! Whilst I might not _like_ Stark that doesn't mean I don't find him a marvellously entertaining character and an enjoyable performance. I don't have to like a character to enjoy seeing them do their "thing". Karl

With the Spider-man film out next year - I expect the events in it take place before Cap3 CW to set up Spiderman being someone Tony would have on his team & that it would not be a film after CW because with leaked that Ironman is in the SM film it feels like watching the Spiderman cartoon but starting from series 4 first. You know you are missing a large block of story & flashback could ruin the film. Then all the talk about Ironman 4 If RDJ is doing it when said he wasn't but is now or maybe not

Personally, I really think Apocalypse needs to happen before we (the collective viewer "we," not this board "we") try to figure out what happens next.

Surely he must - being on Team Thor? (Which is the best Team for Civil War by the looks of things)

Of Course Daryl returns. Who do you think sets off Ragnorok? I mean, he at least made the font on his work computer, under Thor's direction.

I genuinely got more enjoyment out of that 4 min short than in all of the second Thor film.
