Has Roberts mentioned these books at all recently, since he's parting ways with IDW and Transformers soon? I would be terribly disappointed not to at least get volume 6, let alone the rest, but that doesn't seem likely at all anymore...

If that is the case, what chance do you think there is of James publishing the commentary material himself? Obviously the actual strips are copywrited, but his additional notes are what make those books must-buys.
Unless IDW have paid an advance or there's a contact in place he'd be able to do what he wanted with that.

That would be something, at least! I had also wondered if IDW might at least release it exclusive to digital. Though I would much prefer to have the physical collections completed.

I'm still confused on the state of Vol 6 prior to it being delayed. James mentioned that he'd performed several interviews and collected new material for the collection and had started working on the text. Was this completed? Could some of the information be resurrected in an alternative form?

Not really, no.
They are still publishing TF comics. Just this week Unicron #6 and Star Trek vs Transformers #2 came out.

I thought it was always made clear that IDW still had the licence and expected to be publishing a new Transformers comic starting early next year? Clearly the Go-Bots would be part of the same licence and that's now underway.
I expect vol. 6 got canceled either because it has dragged on so long that they need to resolicit or just because it isn't happening any more. Which would be a great shame, but so it goes.

Officially, I thought they didn’t want to steal the thunder of the ending of the current universe. Still one issue to go, I think?
I’d also be slightly surprised if they didn’t use FCBD as part of the launch.

It's noticeable that news of their amazing TF relaunch is taking a while to surface..... Nah, it'll be a relaunch in the new year, they are just waiting to finish their current line first, otherwise hyping the replacement could have the effect of tanking current sales. I bet we'll see news in December. It'll be an Easter launch, John Barber on a War for Cybertron: Siege comic. You mark my words!! |

I'd buy any Blueshift penned comics. BUT how would you cope at TFN? you'd have to be on panels and do signings at the same time as selling stuff on ToyFu.
You could sign the ToyFu toys and sell those!
