They might get round to it at some point, however, probably do one of the popular version first like Bluestreak or Smokescreen.

Anyway, how oversized is the oversized MP Ratchet? What we talking about here? Can you get in him?

He's taller than the new Dai Atlas.

Dai Atlas is not a useful measuring figure for me... (I do know who he is though!).

Translated, Andy means a bit taller than a Titans Return Leader.

Oh that's quite a bit bigger then. Impressive.

And knowing how Wei Jiang improve figures when they work on them, I bet that's a really, really nice display piece.

It is.
As you can see from that photo he looks a lot less pot-bellied, and the awful hips and tyre sitiuation has been greatly improved.

Yeah it looks much better than the official!
Well, let's hope they turn their attention to PROWL.

It does irk me to think that if Wei Jiang can tweak the CAD files to improve the figure so easily, why didn't Takara in the first place? 3P may be dodgy legally, but they really care about getting figures right.

Well it's always easier to see faults in a thing someone else made than to create the whole thing from scratch in the first place.
Also 3P companies don't bother with child safety standards and can operate to different budgets/pricepoints. So they can have more leeway with materials etc.
The KO looks the same as the real one to me!

Well it's always easier to see faults in a thing someone else made than to create the whole thing from scratch in the first place. Yes but the hip panels on that mould are an obvious problem that should have been fixed before the figure came out, if anything just for accuracy. That's not really a subjective opinion, they're plain wrong. The fact there are at least three third party solutions that offer different fixes suggests laziness on Takara's part in doing it right in the first place.

I think since at least Masterpiece Ultra Magnus we've seen some deliberate cost-cutting at the expense of the design creep in to some of the Masterpiece line. (Beast Wars not withstanding).

He has arrived.
He is not a toy for Ralph.
A bit too fiddly and panelly for my tastes in places. My first experience with MAKETOYS, and unlike a Fans Hobby or MMC I wasn't knocked of my feet with the build quality.

I do like how 'This is not a toy for Ralph' has become an actual way we can say how good a toy is.
A Ralph Rating if you will.

Its a Newage day here at my house with Prowl and Cosmos arriving. Cosmos is basically a perfect update of the G1 minibot. I'd need to get my copy down from the attic, but he looks to be not a massive amount taller than the original, but captures both modes perfectly.
Prowl is an utterly superb, teeny tiny version of the character. I can see why a lot of people have had issues with him being too small as it definitely threw me when I got him, but as said above, he does both modes brilliantly, and his articulation is top notch. Newage continue knocking these figures out of the park. They're both going to make excellent desk bots at work.

Do you have Flipper, their Bumblebee? He's fantastic. Scale-up these figures, and you've got, well, something near the perfect G1y MPy versions of these characters. What do you think of Cosmos' size compared to Prowl's? Prowl works brilliantly well with Bumblebee, and hopefully their upcoming Jazz. But I find Cosmos a touch over-scaled compared to Prowl... his head is so much larger than Prowl's. He works with Bumblebee, but looks, I dunno, a 'half-scale' larger than their Prowl. Please keep in mind I'm being really nitpicky here. They're all such lovely well made figures.

I do have Flipper although not currently out with the other two figures. I’d agreed though Cosmos’ scale does seem somewhat off with the other two. He’s noticeably got more bulk to him.
I definitely think the figures are a nightmare for any collector that’s basing their collection on scale. Fortunately I tend to just have random stuff out on my desk at any time which makes things a lot easier. At the moment both my work and home desks are a complete hodge pudge of MP, Generations, Seige, Newage and Bot Bots. I kind of miss having shelves for a proper display 😃
