I'd like a US colours Astrotrain too but I think enough is enough at the moment. Outback I can leave, I don't feel an urge for the 86 minibots in MP scale.

MMC G2 Onslaught arrived today, the final lad. Almost done transforming them all but dinner is calling

FT Hoist arrived today. So busy I've not had time to open the box yet. Something to look forward to at the weekend. Big name off the MP list. Going to have to dig out Grapple to stand with him.

Three weeks after Hoist, FT Mirage has arrived. Fans Toys really are pumping stuff out this year. Think I'll keep that for a weekend treat. I really do love MMC Sphinx so it's going to be tough to decide who goes in the lineup.

Opened my FT Mirage up, it is a way more polished bot mode than Sphinx, though the transformation is not as good / intuitive.

Dezzeh's right, Phantasm (FT, left) is more polished than Sphinx (MMC, right) and shows the improvements in 3P products over the time since Sphinx came out (2015). It's heftier, tighter and has better materials. Sphinx now feels like an MP figure made out of Generations level plastics. Apart from the rubber tyres, whch are way thicker than Phantasm's. However it does still have a definite charm. I only keep one MP scale toy for each character, but I'm not sure I can ditch Sphinx. It's still a great figure in its own right and I think would fit better with the earlier Takara MP cars.

I can't comment on materials or quality because I own neither, but Sphinx looks hands-down better there. He looks to me what a MP should be- updated G1 with a touch of cartoon. Like MP-17, MP-10. Phantasm looks too 'Sunbow-bland', which all MPs are moving towards, from what I've noticed.

I love Sunbow, but it is essentially is a badly drawn cartoon. The 'blandness-effect' is part of that.

This is the thing. The nub. The problem. These two show both ends of the MP evolution. Sphinx goes far better with figures like Prowl and Sideswipe, but Phantasm fits with ones like Sunstreaker.

Picking up FT Jazz from the parcel shop tomorrow. That'll finish the current mad rush of FT releases.

He's a little diva. About the same size as a Legacy Deluxe. FT are smashing the original '84 team currently.

I think Powerglide is next for me in June. Then what I really want to see from them is Windcharger and Cosmos.

I recently acquired three Dicelings - Hasbro's Dungeons & Dragons crossover series that perhaps surprisingly doesn't use any Transformers branding. Jumbo D20s that convert into a dragon, beholder and owlbear. (I have the red, orange and white versions respectively. Other colours are available, and another mould.) Naturally, they're shellformers, but the dragon unfolds quite nicely and the owlbear has satisfyingly a little more than just unfolding.

Being dice, I've declared them honorary Botbots.

Still waiting on FT Blaster and the cassettes to come in to stock at Terrys.. getting impatient now.

Has Blaster come through at the start of the week, feel wise it's an improvement on Transistor I guess but, doesn't feel like it's much of an upgrade in general. Ah well.

I looked at that but it didn't really appeal. FT have had a couple of average releases by their standards recently. I want to see the SPECIAL TEAMS back on the runway. Literally in the Aerialbots' case.

I don't believe theyre on the slate for this year, sadly.

Given they've already released the torsos I think they're in trouble with those.

However there's also Gears and Powerglide coming. And I could be persuaded by Blitzwing, but I'd want a toy colours version.

The rumour was they parted ways with the designer of the combiners and he took his designs with him, so they are having to work it out again from scratch. I'm hoping they will turn up in '24.
I think Scourge is also slated for this year and am looking forward to replacing my XTB one.

I finally acquired a Fanstoys Roadking a couple of weeks ago and it is amazing.
A very complicated, but not frustrating transformation - I love the way it compacts down to robot mode. Genius!
