You say straight reprint series, but I wonder how much its costing them to license from Marvel IDW and anyone else who might be involved compared to the costs of producing ship models and whatever content goes in to the magazine. I'm slowly coming around to the out of order approach. The thought of laying out however much for the Dreamwave phase is softened knowing it will only be £10 here and there rather than a full couple of months costing me £40, £50?. Ditto the Mccarthy/costa IDW period. Haing said that I hope it ordered in a way to minimise spoilers or a least to make each volume as comprehensible to a new comer as possible. This is my exact feeling on it, with it being spread out I wont mind have 2-3 issues in a row where I go "hmmm not sure I want this anymore"

good morning all, just rang hachette partworks regarding my address update, and then continued to ask the very helpful person on the phone some questions. 1: the publishers are going to release the collection in the new year. 2: if subscribers have got up to issue 4 they will continue with issue 5. 3: there will be a free gift to subscribers automatically. he seemed positive regarding the full launch as he also subscribed to it. a transformers collecter on the other end was nice too, had a chat about his collection and mine, hes more of a beast wars fan. anyways off track but year looks good.

That's good. I think the Uk Thunderwing stories are going to be in v15 after reading them last night along with 2 Megatrons.

I've got nothing to link to the following - but I think that #6 might have a seeker on the cover & contain US #1 but a few stories in.

US#1 has to be Volume 1, surely?

It would be, but I think Pete means the 6th release rather than volume.

We should nuke this thread and start a new one for the proper release when it happens.

It should be v1 (but with the UK annual pre Earth stuff being at the start) But i've just got this feeling that because Starscream wasn't used on the released cover & was changed that a Seeker should be on #6 which would be v1 but Starscream should be saved for Darkstar.

We should nuke this thread and start a new one for the proper release when it happens. -Ralph I have renamed it Transformers Partworks Trial. We can start a proper one when the release happens properly in the new year. Andy

And as an example of how things can change between trial and launch, the Trek comic partwork is offering a different (and I would say worse myself!) Premium Subscription bonus. Trial it was big hardbacks of the various Trek crossovers with other comics, now it's those John Bryne photonovel things.
Considering their Who partwork does the bonus book thing I'm mildly surprised Hachette didn't offer one for the TF work as there's fringe stuff they could have put together for that (the UK film and Prime stuff, the various Infestations...).

The pleasing thing there is they've fixed Wlidman.
Though someone still doesn't know who Jazz is.
The War Within cover is a new addition as well isn't it? Looks like they'll be sticking with that style then. Shame as I was hoping with the series commisioned there'd be the budget for something better than old stock images (which will presumably get pretty random over the 60 issues..."We've only got Ramjwt left to go on Dying of the Light!").

We can have Powermaster Optimus Prime, G2 tank Megatron

But it would have been nicer to have a chronological image though. Start with the old Sunbow designs, work through the masters, G2, Dreamwave, -Ations, and then MTMTE/RID. I'd have liked that better.

1 and 2 arrived here too this morning. Which is interesting given I marked subscribe me from 3 onwards. I'll open them up later and see if there are any obvious differences to the trial versions.

Did the invoice in the packaging actually charge anyone for these arrived issues? And did any of the free gifts (which should include the third issue) arrive as well? Based on talking to people on twitter it seems people's trial issues are arriving, just very late for some reason.

No invoice in the packaging, probably just trial issues. Maybe stock received from store returns.
Anyway, some info I learnt today: - 80 parts planned - they can't reprint New Avengers/Transformers [that's not a bad thing]

I am The One Person who thought that crossover was perfectly fine for what it was. Certainly it's better than any of McCarthy or Costa's run.

v51 should be the start of the twin IDW ongoings if they do the issues about 9 US issues each issue so it'll eb seeing how far up to v80 is then. How would they do RID MTMTE ? 4 issue then 5, next issue 5 then 4?

After not hearing anything since subscribing Stormbringer and Target 2006 arrived yesterday afternoon. I haven't had the chance to look at them yet. Then strangely 30 minutes ago The primal Scream and Edge of Extinction arrived. It's strange that i don't hear anything, then get two deliveries within 24 hours.

I think its the trail subs runs - unless you have got the copies before posted to you. So just 2 months before #5,6.

The main run should see us all get the first issues again (don't forget those are the ones with the free gifts, plus they might have made changes based on feedback).
Based on the Who one the first package should be the first 3 issues (as 3 is supposed to be free) plus the initial gifts.
