They've changed the website - just clicked back & get the release date above. The whole top selection bar is gone.

Quick posting on phone: Website revised for launch (they still don't know who Jazz is!). Video (presumably for TV) advert! Slight changes to the free gifts (including an odd but actually entertainingly left choice of cover to turn into a "Tin plate"!). Same covers and spine art Premiym sub added, but whilst with other partworks this tends to be bonus books, here it's art prints. Not worth it for me, YMMV.

It was art prints with the Dredd books. I didn't bother with that.

Nought wrong with covers or spine art.

The covers I don't mind, the art is a bit generic, but the basic layout is nice enough and after the first dozen or so issues we might start to get quite a random selection of cover stars.
The spines art is disappointing though. I suppose dull and generic stock art collage is better than winding up with some Pat Lee horror show or the new TFTM bluray art which isn't really to my taste either, but its not close to being as good as a newly commissioned piece by Senior or Wildman or Nick, Jack or most of the current artists.
Premium sub. £60-80 or more for 6 art prints.
Did I miss something? because thats kind of insane. You can probably get sketches of your choice by those artists for not massively more.

Should that be £1 extra per issue every 6 months? We know the guy doing the website isn't all that too good with english. So extra free gift. So looks like #2 is full price but expect #1 to still be reduced. Maybe £6.99 - or is is still going to be £1.99

A shame the spine art and cover images are not being changed as they use generic style guide artwork provided by licensees that have already been used on may other products for several years now. Doubly annoying as using these on a collection of comics robs them of some unique identity. It's just lazy. Even more annoying when there is budget for original art for the prints but not the actual books! Eh?
The crapness of the spines makes it very easy for me to cancel my sub. I shall cherry pick certain volumes from their website as it goes on.

Tis a surprise. They should know that the one thing collectors like is a good run of spines. Sounds stupid but it's absolutely true and really important to some people (me included). The Dredd collection has bespoke artwork of all the major characters designed to fit the 80 volume stretch and it looks great on a shelf.

A good spine image across a series sucks in people like me! This decision has saved me money though! I'll just get the Marvel based issues now. -Ralph

It's the contents of the non-Marvel issues that give me doubt.
Not fussed at all by covers or spine art. It's a good package overall.

When we know how many volumes the Marvel stuff is, I will do a custom sleeve design for them all. A Hubsclusive.

So I messaged the Facebook group page for the collection and asked about exiting trial subscribers and how to upgrade if we wanted too. I got this response
Hi Anthony, sorry for the delay in replying.
As a subscriber of the test run, you will receive a welcome communication by email or letter very soon, but I've added some details from that communication below:
Issue 1 will be published on 28th December 2016, and your subscription will begin again from issue 1. We will send you the new editions of issues 1, 2, and 3 free of charge, and of course you will receive your free subscription gifts.
As for upgrading to premium, we ask that you wait to receive your first dispatch which will include your first two free issues and your first free subscription gift. You should then send us a DM here on Facebook or call the call centre on 0333 300 1045 (local rates apply) and ask to upgrade to the premium. This way you'll receive your free issues and will be well in time to receive their first premium print which will come with issues 8 and 9.
Hope that's helpful!

Got the standard email re: the trial going live and asking to log on to change payment details as they don't keep them if you had signed up during a trial. So I did so. Site does not show my sub. Just the Marvel one I cancelled several fecking years ago. Sigh. They really need to sort their *@&@* website out.

I did notice though my address details had been changed to leave the door and flat numbers off and also that the delivery address had been deleted.
Couldn't find the cancellation button. Utterly useless website. I shall phone after the bank holiday.

This was the moment that in my head the relationship between Andy and Ralph went from Statler and Waldorf to Harold and Albert Steptoe.
