I'm well gel of your soldering skills Blue. This is incredible stuff. But how are you going to fit all that in a Gameboy case?
Every time I come to this thread I get a serious itch to get my micro out. Fnar!

Spent literally half a day sorting out the controllers and battery issues. So close to being finished, but the sound is getting so much interference it's unusable. I think I need to completely rework it!

Stay on target! You're getting there. Does the interference mean something needs insulating?

Stay on target! You're getting there. Does the interference mean something needs insulating? If that's the issue. Could be dodgy soldering, something wrong with the headphone jack or a mixture

Gah! Circuit troubleshooting. I know your pain. I was trying to do battery, wire, light with my class on Friday and couldn't work out why the bloody thing wasn't working. Dodgy bulb? Broken bulb socket? Dead battery? Science is hard work!

Got everything working and then found I'd fried the charger from the powerboost (so it works but wont charge the battery) Have to get a new powerboost in the new year and get my sister an emergency Christmas present!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! So close! I can't tell you how annoyed I am! But I never liked to rush things anyway, this at least gives me plenty of time to test! It's my own fault. I'm using the Powerboost 1000c which has its battery terminals in reverse to how everything else ever users them and it doesn't mark them. I just assumed the makers weren't iNsAnE

I will be editing it over the next day or so. Illness and furniture assembly have gotten in the way.

Got my backlit screen for my Gameboy Advance way sooner than expected. The GBA screen is notoriously dim. Here's my GBA in bits and the replacement screen and ribbon Old screen removed, new screen installed. Soldered more power for brightness (this was a MASSIVE pain) Annnnd here we go! Yes the screen is off-centre but this is just to get it working, I've got the actual case I want to use still in the post and it'll be a few more weeks. I'll probably put some black tape down the sides.

Excellent stuff!
I fitted a backlight to my GBA way back when. Made a huge difference but I couldn't manage to get it in without a few flecks of trapped dust that glowed when playing games. I sold it eventually. These days I just have my Micro. Smaller screen, but bright enough. Nicely pocketable console.

Couldn't believe how dark the screen was when I got this one. How did Nintendo ever think that was acceptable!!!

I remember playing the TNG one loads. Lots of fun if simplistic at times. Fiendish at other times (I think this is the one where you have to do lots of bypasses and circuit repairs!).
Just about remember playing the TOS on on the PC. It was alright I remember.
No idea about the Generations one.

Sounds like the TNG one might be the one to go for then!
In the meantime I have the following three gems in the post to me:
Lemmings (NO IDEA how this is supposed to work) Populous (NO IDEA how this is supposed to work) Windows Entertainment Pack (y-yeah. It has Ski Free apparently!)

I think I have played Lemmings on the gameboy. It was probably on a ko cartridge which may not have helped, but it was pretty bad.

How does it play? I used to love playing it on the Master System (and later the DS).

How does it play? I used to love playing it on the Master System (and later the DS). Horrendously but I am still working out the controls. I was not expecting populous on the Gameboy to be good, I was more impressed by the audaciousness

Pffft, if the BBC Micro can do a half decent port of Sim City, the Gameboy can cope with Populous!
