Anyone willing to admit to never having seen Farenheit 451, Dune or Zardoz? Not seen Farenheit 451 as yet. I really should get around to it, but every time I consider it the thought occurs to me that I haven't read the original source material yet either and that maybe I should read the original before I bother with the adaptation. Which then bumps up against the fact that I'm not a huge fan of Bradbury's writing style. Not that I think it is bad, just that he isn't a writer whose style does much for me. And so it goes... I am fully aware that as a librarian by training this is now even more remiss of me in some ways. Karl

Yeah but no but yeah but Guardians of the Galaxy is a very recent film. But The Godfather?!?! The second one is brilliant, but the first one is a piece of art! To not have seen these is is is is just- SHOCKING! Yes, this! Pretty much everyone says the second is the best, but they are wrong! I managed by chance to watch the Godfather trilogy in reverse order; III on TV when I was a teenager, II at University and I at the NFT in London a few years later.

I haven't seen any of the Bay TF films after the first one. I envy you. I will watch no more of them. Unless they're on the telly and there aren't any good chess videos up on youtube.

I haven't watched any of the Bay films after the first either. I saw it at the IMAX near Waterloo and it gave me a headache.

This is on my list of Marvel Universe films I have not seen. Which in simple terms is everything after Iron Man. Martin will drop by to criticise me shortly I'm sure! Martin, may I hold your coat? And he has them all sitting in his living room on DVD/Blu-ray!!! The excuse that Phil can't watch TV for two hours straight is not adequate, as it is perfectly acceptable to watch them in Doctor-Who-episode-size chunks. Martin

Which version of Dune? It is one of those films which have multiple versions doing the rounds. All are awful. As is the book.
I SHALL STRIKE YOU DOWN FOR SAYING BAD THINGS ABOUT EXCALIBUR.
A really shitty Excalibur film was this year's KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD which 'explained' where the rock the sword was stuck in came from. Dear oh dear.

Can't remember, but I think I once attempted dune, and was bored out of my mind. Or maybe that was the remake? Don't remember.
I do know I attempted Blade Runner once, and like Predator gave up.
Didn't like Fury Road, and have never bothered with the other Mad Max movies.
Never saw, nor wanted to see Top Gun.

Dune is a film you really have to persevere with. Hella ambitious, but not an easy watch. Worth it in the end? I really don't know.
Same with Blade Runner, except I think it is worth persevering with.
There's a lot of films that are called classics but are so very of their time that it can be hard to see what the fuss is about if you didn't grow up with them.

I had a girlfriend, Breakfast Club and Top Gun were her two favorite movies. She told me she was gonna make me watch them, and assured me I was gonna absolutely fall in love with them. We watched Breakfast Club, and my general reaction was more or less "Why does Hotrod, the biggest of the Club, simply not eat the others?"
She did not make me watch top gun.
