So you're an ambulance driving, jet-setting Kung Fu Paramedic, now? I have never been on a jet-ski. And my Martial Artistry had to be given up.... some years ago... I can sing though... And I know the difference between the Queen's Gambit and the King's Gambit (he he he! ....chess joke).

Go with it, shockers. You've just become the James Bond of the Hub. Well, my ambulance does have machineguns... for when people don't get of my way... ....or when they look at me funny....

Doesn't that mean you then have to stop and help the people you shoot?

You gotta see Die Hard, Phil. That's how a Christmas Movie is done instead of that recycled Hallmark garbage I've not seen Cowboys & Aliens

You gotta see Die Hard, Phil. That's how a Christmas Movie is done instead of that recycled Hallmark garbage I've not seen Cowboys & Aliens Cowboys and Aliens is no crime not to have seen. It's a decent enough silly romp, but far from anything special. I only saw it recently when it came on the telly. Has Phil still not seen Die Hard?!?!?!!!

It became apparent during tonight's call that there are a LARGE NUMBER of films that chums have seen and believe are either very good or essential building blocks to having a decent film background So chums, suggest films that meet the criteria - Andy Turnbull and blueshift may be able to define it better - that you think Phil may not have seen

We have a similar thread to this for when the topic came up before. It's hard to know what you've seen and what you haven't. Since that last one I've made a start on the Rocky and Rambo films. Maybe not the best films ever but staples of the 70s/80s that have always passed me by. That said, Rocky and First Blood are surprisingly good films. Gave me a new respect for Stallone as a writer.

In all seriousness, Rocky. It's on Amazon Prime streaming, then you can watch 2,3,4 and 6. Super weird they never made a 5 but there you go

Rocky has an odd sense of realism that you find in films like Mike Leigh's. A lot of it felt natural, like the actors were improvising without a script. It took me by surprise. I thought the sequel was good too, and liked the way it rewound the last five minutes of the first film and then just kept going. Didn't quite have the depth of the first one though.

I've never seen a Rocky or Rambo film either. Oooh you should The Rocky films are all on Amazon prime. First one is actually a good film, third one has Mr T and fourth has Dolph Lundgren and a score by Vince DiCola. The first Rambo film is actually a really good film, the others are enjoyable cheese. Confusingly there are two films called 'Rambo', neither of them the first!
