In the run up to Avengers 3. Screw the one a week since January. All the films 6 days.
In release order rather than the continuity order which has IM1&2 back to back. Also because IM2 is the only one I cant find right now.
Iron Man 1. Holy crap! This film holds up insanely well. Not just as a now 10 year old visual effects film holding up well. Which it does thanks to surprisingly restrained use of cg. But as a story, its well told and still highly entertaining even Ironmonger isn't as one dimensional as the majority of the early Marvel villains. RDJ is Tony Stark and yay! Coulson.
More than that it still feels like an MCU film. On the one hand that shouldnt be surprising as this was clearly the blueprint for the MCU after its success. But on the other in the last year we've had GOTG vol2, Spider-man Homecoming, Thor Ragnorak and Black Panther. At least two of those are so far removed from Iron Man in concept that Iron Man really shouldnt sit as comfortably alongside them as it does.
Stan Lee gets the mistaken for Hefner joke, but no lines. Odd to say of an 84 year old, but he looks young.

IM1 is one of my favorite movies. Not just as an MCU, but as a film. It's pretty popular to hate MCU Tony now adays because of Civil War, but I still think he's the best developed, and most complex character in the MCU.

The Incredible Hulk.
Yeesh! Not so much bad as uninteresting. I remember liking this more. Iguess it hasnt been helped by hulks character development and constantly improving cg. Even so it still lacks that mcu vibe.
It does have a great Stan Lee cameo though.

I'm not sure, but Im having a lazy couple of days at home which should help. I got 3 done today plus a funny thing happened on the way to Thors Hammer.
Thor, Captain America and Avengers tomorrow would see off phase 1.
Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2 on Wednesday
GOTG vol 1 and Ultron? on Thursday
Antman, Captain America 3 on Friday
Doctor Strange, GOTG vol 2, Spider-man Homecoming, Thor Ragnorak and Black Panther on saturday.....
... this may need some fine tuning.

Iron Man 2. Much better than I remembered. Not that I ever remember disliking it, but I havent seen it for so long I'd forgotten a lot of it. It does repeat IM1 a bit too much, but theres some character developement for Tony, more Pepper and Tony, upgraded Rhodey, Howard Stark v2, Natasha, more Coulson and the start of world building.
The trend for cannon fodder armies at the conclusion starts here, but in fairness its done quite well.
They doubled down on the Stan Lee mistaken identity joke. Excellent.

All of the films in six days?! How?!!?!? If I can watch 98 Enterprise episodes in 90 days, 18 films in 6 days is a walk in the park. -Ralph

Couldnt get to Imax till sunday. Was tempted to see it before hand as seeing Black Panther on Imax after regular cinema meant I could enjoy the Imax spectacle part of it more, but decided against it.
On to Thor.

A Marvel Short: A Funny thing happened on the way to Thors Hammer.
The moment Coulson goes from just unflappable to unflappable badass.
A Marvel Short: The Consultant.
Okay now I see why some people put IM2 before Incredible Hulk. Hulk ends with Stark annoying Ross. IM2 ends with Stark becoming a consultant to shield. The Consultant is about Coulson arranging for Stark to annoy Ross. Personally dont feel its neccesary but fair enough.
Thor
I cant believe how different Asgard looks in this.
Its very serious and thor is very blonde.
I guess it had to take itself pretty seriously as it was introducing magic and gods into a series that so far had dealt with technology and science. Thor Ragnarok is by some distance the best Thor film, but I don't think they could have made a film like that first time out. It all needs playing straight so that Thor can learn how ridiculous he and Asgard are over the next couple of films to become the self aware god of Ragnorak.
I had forgotten how good Kat Dennings is in this. I had no problem with the character that were cut to make Ragnorak what it was but if there was a remotely... not even sensible ...... just a way of getting Dennings back in Ragnorak I wish they had found it. Or you know just get her back in to the MCU somewhere. Have her work for Strange. Or Selvig send her somewhere with a message or anything. Stans makes a fool of himself trying to pull meow meow out of the ground with his truck.

Captain America: The First Avenger
Skinny Steve still looks impressively non visual effecty.
How haven't they found time for someone to mock Steves WWII Captain America movies.
They literally could have done an entire WWII era MCU, The first two thirds of this would have been the bulk of the first one, the last third the end of the last one.
Yay, Agent Carter and Howard Stark Mk3.
I've already forgotten Stans cameo... oh yeah at the ceremony. Not one of the best.

Avengers Yay Avengers. Boo Coulson.
I love that fury pulls a gun on a plane.
One of the weaker Stan cameos.

Wasn't Stan in one of the cut scenes as well where he tells Steve to ask the waitress out? The waitress who later on gets a TV interview?

Wasn't Stan in one of the cut scenes as well where he tells Steve to ask the waitress out? The waitress who later on gets a TV interview? Yeah, that was a much better cameo and would have made the remaining scenes with the waitress work a little better.

Think that's Age of Ultron Stan? No Ultron has the party cameo, which is one of the best. I don't think there was any alternative cameos in that one.

Iron Man 3.
The time line is increasingly playing on my mind. I shouldn't let it, but it does. As is the tinitus thats suddenly come on in my right ear.
The Christmas film. I have zero affinity for the Mandarin so dont care about how they changed the character, it works for the film.
I missed Stan cameo had to go back to it. Definitely bottom of the pile so far.
Marvel One Shot: Agent Carter I forgot about Dum Sums cameo. Doesn't really mesh with the TV series at all, unless the two seasons of Carter happen within a year of First Avenger which they dont I'm pretty sure. but its a great mini pilot all the same.

Thor The Dark world.
Vanaheim - theres a big battle. masses of dirt repeatedly explodes across shots, but there are no explosions or anything to suggest why all the dirt is flying. and is that Rock dude the same species as Korg?
Ah so the changes to Asgard happend here, it now looks old and stoney instead of gold and CG. Much better. Still not a bad film, but grey and not as fun as it should have been.
And why get the underground directions wrong? either film it at Waterloo or London Bridge (both more recognisable than Charing Cross anyway)were the joke just needs the number of stops changing or give proper directions from Charing Cross which might be funnier.
Jane might not have been that well served by the two films but its still a shame Portman hasn't been back as she puts in decent performances both times. Can she be the next Thor please? Good excuse to bring back Darcy too.
Also Stan Cameo is much improved.

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Not he best MCU film, but theres a lot in it that I really enjoy. Off duty Avengers, after the opening battle and later at the party are great scenes. Hulk vs Iron Man is fantastic. And going against the seeming prevailing wisdom I really like Hawkeye. The Family farm scene is one of my favourites and his "..I have a bow. Non of this makes sense!" is a personal favourite.
I like that the climax isnt a repeat of the big smash up from Avengers. Here the smash up is just clearing the deck for saving the people as that raises the stakes.
Can we have more Don Cheadle in the MCU.
Also James Spader was brilliant casting.
And then theres my favourite Stan cameo at the party.

Oh and suddenly Hulks appearance in Ragnorak makes a bit more sense to me. He leaves ona Quinjet whose direction had been set by Ultron so it might make sense that he had planned to leave Earth. With access to Shields files amongst others it quite possible he was even aware of and aiming for the wormhole that that took Hulk to Sakaar.
I probably should have worked that out sooner.

The Hulk's appearance in Ragnarok does not make sense to me, as it jars with Banner's appearance in Team Thor, which I consider canon because I love it so much..

Antman
Yay its Howard Stark v2 in a scene with aged Haley Atwell and de-aged Micheal Douglas. Need an 80s set film with more of this.
I like Ant-Man. I dont have a lot to say beyond that oh and Micheal Pena is great.
Stans bartending in a Luis flashback so obivously great too.
