It was tried a few years ago in the comics...not good! -Ralph Nonsense. It was great! I thought it stank to high heaven. Overly decompressed and don't start me on the 'secret origin of Tony Stark'. Ugh. Also: why can no modern comic artists draw Death's Head properly??? -Ralph

The jaw is wrong. No-one past the mid-90's can draw his distinctive jaw properly!!!

I was obviously referring to published Marvel comics as this is a Marvel thread.

I've not seen Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther, Ant-Man and The Wasp, or Infinity War. I'm doing pretty well, I think. Spunk! Sort yourself out! You're almost as bad as Phil.

I thought it stank to high heaven. Overly decompressed and don't start me on the 'secret origin of Tony Stark'. Ugh. Also: why can no modern comic artists draw Death's Head properly??? I usually hate those continuity-implant, everything-you-thought-you-knew-is-wrong stories, but I thought this one was good! At first I hated it, but the eventual twist and how it was revealed was really quite clever, and in a way that didn't undermine the character's history so much after all. There were flaws in Gillen's run, but I liked that plot.

I don't really have the focus or concentration for movies at the moment. I'm sure they'll come across my screen at some point...

Ant Man and The Wasp was good.
I can understand why Ralph did not get it with it though.

Congrats to Marvel Studios for Black Panther getting 7 Oscar nominations including the first ever Best Picture nomination for a superhero movie.

Absolutely. I mean I think its benefitting from the backlash over the all white oscars of the last few years, but if thats what it takes to finally get a popular blockbuster at least nominated then so be it.
Hopefully Spiderverse picks up the animated one too.

Started my pre Captain Marvel rewatch. Giving myself a bit longer than last year.
Just watched Ironman 1 & 2 back to back for the first time. Gotta say IM2 works much better as a part 2 than as a stand alone sequel.

And thats First Avenger done.
As a break from the movies on to Agent Carter Season 1.

Wow. I'd forgotten how much First Avengers footage they reused as a quick recap. Also a bit of the Agent Carter short seems to be in there. No doubt just to mess with those trying to make sense of the continuity.

I forgot how good season 1 of Agent Carter is. For some reason I remembered it dragging a little like the netflix shows tend to. One thing that really works is the guys she works with are sexist arseholes, but they are also very good at their jobs with and arent just that one trait. Makes them and the show more interesting.
Also a nice little Stan cameo that I had completely forgotten about.
Now the question is do I have season 2 or not?

Season one was great. The second not quite so good, but still very enjoyable.

Hmmm. It might be my imagination, but I think there were efforts to make Ruffalo look a bit Norton like when he first appears in Avengers.

Appears I dont have Carter season 2, must remedy that. So after Avengers and Iron Man 3 on to Agents of Shield Season 1.

Theres been a lot of talk about the next Batman film focussing on the detective part of the character. I realised watching IM3 that thats exactly what they did there.
Billionaire with advance tech investigates criminal mastermind. Occassionally uses advanced tech suit of armour.

God you're not doing all those too are you?! Well Season 1 at least ties heavily in to the films. So I'll watch it in sequence with Thor 2 and Winter Soldier. I will probably try to rewatch the rest before Season 6 starts in a few months.

And that was Thor 2. Really the big problem this film has is the lack of interesting threat. Thor has Loki and Thor Ragnorak has Jeff Goldblum and Kate Blanchett.
We now return to our regularly scheduled season 1 of Agents of Shield.

We now return to our regularly scheduled season 1 of Agents of Shield. Which is a shame because it has Christopher Eccleston as the villain and adapts one of the most beloved stories. It just... does nothing with it.

I haven't read the comic, but I like to imagine how much fun it would have been if Eccleston had played him like he played the doctor.
The colour palette would still leave something to be desired, but it would have been infinitely more entertaining.

You need to read the Simonson Thor run which is 337-382 and currently a big gap in Thor's Epic Collections
