True but right after Christmas when people will have been budgeting £60 for registration, suddenly having to find nearly £135 will have been a bit of a shock to to old system.

I like the idea. Not such a big bill come August and as Andy says, we're paying eventually anyway. The question for me is whether to extend the usual Fri/Sat booking to Thursday as well.

Oh I understand and can sympathise. However, misrepresenting it as paying more for the sake of a more annoyed me. Also, as far as it goes I don't mind considering I end up spending a week in the damn place, a day off the bill at the end wlll be nice.

I suspect there will be some who may not be able to clear their credit card within the month and could wind up with at least a months interest added to the bill. But they probably aren't represented by most of the people sounding off.
Personally I'm not to troubled by the change, though as I usually book a couple of rooms for Toyfu it is a fairly large outlay at short notice, if the charge is per room which Im assuming it is, otherwise it would defeat the purpose somewhat.

the twitter verse frustrated me a bit with their complaints about it, rather than seeing the good side of it - more rooms available for more people on the day should mean less panicking about not getting one,
remember rooms kept coming back all the time as people cancelled, this should prevent that,
I sympathise about the people who cant budget that and will struggle for the outlay but there are cheaper hotels available nearby if that the case and they can be booked anytime.
Side note ill be booking the Thursday for definite Pin, ill be heading down after results day again this year!

I wouldn't say they frustrated me, I mean they are right that it's an unexpected initial outlay that may prevent some of them getting rooms. On the other hand, people that book multiple rooms to then bin them off a week before the con are kinda jerks.

Hilton have a 25% sale on but you are still paying £175 per night but paying in august. So still best to get your room in 2 weeks time

Got my ticket booked but the site crashed but got confirm is on my order page. Got TFNation crew to send me hotel room link so got my room booked too. Note I can't share the link direct, you need to tell TFNation your booking ref so they can confirm & they'll give you the link. But keep it secure & don't post online. Or people not booking tickets can get access.

Oop. Forgot about this. Site says ticket registration is unavailable so something must have gone wrong. Demand too high at midday? Hope I can still get a room when it's working again.

I had problems booking the room online at the discount rate through various links but phoned them on 01217804242 and the hotel itself was very helpful and sorted me out. Hope that helps anyone else out.
Edit: Which means I'm going this year!

I'm booked at the right rate, but I'm interested to know what's going to come off my card. I saw £72 deposit flash up once while booking, but the checkout said I was paying for the full stay. The receipt I have is for the full stay. Have to see what I'm actually charged!

TFN headquarters is happy to announce a first time UK visitor from the franchise's media history: Beast Machines and Animated story editor Marty Isenberg will be attending TFNation 2019! Older fans will know Isenberg's name from the credits on Transformers: Beast Machines - the sequel to the highly popular Beast Wars cartoon - where he served as editor along with Bob Skir; but his more widely known work is undoubtedly the story editing provided on the 2009 Transformers Animated series on Cartoon Network (as well as providing some of the early voices and materials for the series in pre-production stages). He continued his work on the Animated version of our favourite robots in the brief IDW comics series, and contributed to sibling Hasbro-owned property GI Joe for its cartoon series Renegades on The Hub. His biggest hit not featuring robots is probably the 2003-2010 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, but he has other notable contributions on series that include Batman the Animated Series, Spider-Man, X-Men, Ben 10, Gargoyles and more. Marty Isenberg will be attending the convention all weekend, chatting Beast Machines and Animated We look forward to welcoming him and all of you to TFNation 2019. Stay tuned for more updates! In celebration of the 40th anniversary of one of earth's most popular robot/mech franchises, we are thrilled to introduce you to... The Gundam Wing at TFNation! Since our first convention, we have always celebrated robot franchises which have lived alongside our Cybertronian friends. 2016 was the year of the Rock Lords, whilst 2017 played host to Brave; but 2018 saw something of a gap year as we took the time to plan something bigger... much bigger! With help from our friends at Gundam Mad and Anime Limited, The Gundam Wing will be a large, self-contained area of TFNation 2019. Open for the entire weekend, The Gundam Wing will contain a huge display of model kits and a dedicated sales area with hundreds of kits and Gundam merchandise available for purchase! For those who are new to the hobby, we will be hosting introductory panels. Experienced Gunpla fans might wish to show off their game at our speed build tables! Be sure to stay tuned for panel announcements over the coming months. Entry to The Gundam Wing is included within your TFNation ticket price, meaning this is a great opportunity for newcomers to check out an exciting hobby, whilst enjoying the full lineup of TFNation entertainment! The Gundam Wing at TFNation will take flight during TFNation 2019, which will be hosted at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel from 16-18 August 2019. Whether you're there for the Transformers, the Gundams or both, be sure to come and suit up with us!

In his first Transformers convention appearance on our shores, TFNation is proud to announce another voice actor for 2019: Brian Drummond, voice of Transformers Beast Machines Jetstorm! One of the major players in the series, Jetstorm is but one of the many characters that Drummond has lent his talents to, for our robot friends' age-spanning media franchise. His credits list features the likes of Armada Blurr, Energon Shockblast, and Cybertron Jetfire and Jolt, starring in the entire Unicron trilogy. Outside of Transformers media, he is most famous for anime dubs such as: Dragon Ball Z (as the Saiyan prince Vegeta); Death Note (death god Ryuk), several Mobile Suit Gundam series characters; Black Lagoon (as Benny); and many others beyond. In Western animation, his voice can be found in several Lego media franchises like Bionicle, Ninjago, Nexo Nights and Star Wars; alongside Barbie, Bratz, My Little Pony, Hot Wheels, Littlest Pet Shop, and The Little Prince, to name a few. Brian Drummond will be attending the convention all weekend, talking about his work in the voice acting industry, making pop-culture references (in and out of character), and chatting to fans. We look forward to welcoming him and all of you to TFNation 2019. Stay tuned for more updates! If you want to ensure you receive all announcements, join our mailing list at tfnation.com.
