Star Convoy is obviously POTP Leader Op which is a shame as it's rubbish.
No idea what Armada Op is built using!

The Armada Prime is VERY intriguing. Weird that it showed up here and not later in the Generations line, but I guess maybe Armada was big in Japan..? Either way, that’s a nice mold, and the presence of a crotch-split hints at a possible super mode.

It's very plausible Armada is a new mold, but uses PotP Rodimus trailer, only that part wasn't ready to show.
However, while I don't see how, I'm very afrain Armada will turn out to be star convoy's inner robot

And yes! Of COURSE Armada Prime is going to connect to a retool of Rodimus Prime’s trailer. I should have thought of that myself. Good thinking Toph! The Armada Prime looks good, I hope we get the Final Battle colour scheme as well. I'd be quite happy with Supercon Prime as Star Convoys cab bot if it preserved SC long nose alt mode but sadly dont see it. Looks like a standard G1 Prime. Shame, but as I still dont have POTP Prime something I still will likely pick up. Im just not a fan of big Armada Prime so would care less about a full Armada Prime from POTP Rodimus.

When was the last time Takara were the first to reveal a new mold from the CHUG series? All their recent reveals have been redeco's havent they?

All their recent reveals have been redeco's havent they? redecos or retools I don't think they have had a new Mould reveal for CHUG before. Technically Rumble and Frenzy in United, not sure if Hasbro ever officially revealed demolition Rumble. However if this is part of a larger Superbase and that reuses something, then this toy win"t be 100% new either.

I did think that was the case due to the crotch break But what if it's a Rodimus remold, that I couldn't take!

If Star Convoy, Super Megs, and Armada Optimus are all part of a budgeted line (as opposed to each individual toy having it's own budget), then I'd far rather Armada get the new mold, and Megatron get the more extensive retooling. Oh I agree, I'd rather the Armada Prime got the love and attention (and of course released in normal and Final Battle colours). Andy

Given Takara's recent track record, I've been thinking.
They remolded TR Powermaster Optimus to be more G1 accurate. They remolded TR Black Shadow (plus others) into Dai Atlas and Big Powered. They're remolding PotP Optimus into Star Convoy. They may, or may not be remolding PotP Rodimus into Armada Prime.
With this, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Takara remolded Siege Voyager Optimus to get rid of all the weird gribles, and make him more G1 accurate. -New front fender pieces -New shoulder/stack pieces -New backpack/roof piece (that looks more like an earth truck) -New grill/headlight piece (that looks more like an earth truck) -New ion rifle
The amount of work to do this is insignificant compared to the work done to most of the others. In fact, if they did this, I wouldn't be surprised if they went further than this, and gave him a new trailer and roller.

Made a slight tweak to clarify WHICH TR Optimus.... I was flummoxed for a moment trying to work out what they'd done to the Voyager.
There's certainly a history there of Takara playing with Primes. And I would like it to look more 1984 in truck mode

I'm kinda wondering, combined with Siege Cybertron Optimus kinda left field, if Takara isn't working towards having all the major Convoys/Autobot Leaders in modern toys.

I would like to put a theory to the floor: Armada Op is part of a Commander class toy for the next WFC line.

Well there's a new a thought.
Huh.
It would also help reason why we've not heard about him, since. Takara should have shown him off a bit more by now, otherwise. He might not have even intended to be shown off at all.

I'd be well up for an Armada revisit, but how would that fit with the exodus storyline going on in the backstory?

In the same way Galaxy Force Op does with WFC: Siege?

Hasbro will just ignore the fact that it's a separate alternate universe character, and make it yet another G1 Optimus, much like IDW was doing with just about every character that existed in multiple realities with multiple designs (such as G1 Starscream getting his Aligned and Armada bodies)
Honestly, I think the only Optimus they acknowledge as a separate distinct character is Optimus Primal.

True. Are the two Siege Primes supposed to be the same character? What does the back of the box say for the Leader?

But they do have very detailed C.O.M.B.A.T. C.O.L.I.N. information on the instruction booklets.

I was thinking about those blurb bits that came in the original press releases. I didn't realise they hadn't made it as far as the back of the box (I've binned all mine so I couldn't check). Each toy had an intro bit in the PRs that came out at the toy shows.

Since there's some question about where this toy ends up I've pulled all the posts on the new Armada Prime into their own thread.

so Takara's Armada Op Is that the new Leader Op with trailer on yesterday's leak list? tmukhub.proboards.com/post/384786/threadI was thinking no, the Armada Op is far too large, has to be Commander sized, and I think I even said so yesterday. Then I got thinking..... How big is the Armada Op? Obviously we don't know for sure..... but we know how big what it's standing next to is as that's POTP Op, give or take a few extra bits. Here POTP Op is with Galaxy Upgrade Op's inner robot - a decent comparison to start with. And this was a surprise, because it's obvious this is far too large. Ditto the stand alone Siege Voyager Op So we go down a size to deluxe and POTP Op is proportionately much bigger than Sideswipe compared to Armada Op The closest can find is Impactor: Impactor is pretty close and he's 15cm high in a standing straight stance So less of the package - and available plastic - would be taken up by the inner robot than on Galaxy Op. Which means more space and plastic could go to the trailer and legs. So yes, I think Armada Op could possibly be our Op with trailer.
