Don't plant pumpkins guys, I didn't realise the plants are vines that spread out with the grabby little tendrils so the flower bed is in danger of being taken over and turned into a full on pumpkin patch from the 4 I planted. On the plus side, we'll probably have a bumper crop come Halloween. Tomatoes at vegetative stage (post seedling) given to us by our neighbour are planted and set in well. 2 out of 5 Chilli plants made it through the winter (although these are indoor plants). Only had 3 seeds sprout out of 10 that I planted a few months back

Spontaneous Tree is rapidly expanding foliage.
Tomatoes, courgettes and sunflowers blooming. Cleaned out the 'pond'/wet-habitat.

My pumpkins are flowering. Had to tangle the vines around each other due to lack of space. May replan now I can see where the fruits will be.

EGADS! INVASION!!!!
Hundreds of tiny black eggs (may be fungal, but look more spherical) on the underside of the leaves and around the flowers. The eggs seem to be attracting ants too.
I have deployed the forces of non chemical pesticide.

A new threat has appeared, claw marks appeared on my pumpkins! Squirrels? Cats? Rats? WHO KNOWS?
Oddly the longest vine hasn't fruited. Some tertiary vines have appeared on it that look like the flowers will fruit, so may revert to manually pollinating and chopping the main vine if it takes.

Last year the front way hedge rows got taken out, I put them in pots to my amazement most are looking great and a number of other after having been dead for months are slowly recovering.
Ive even found use for the ones that didnt, with a bit of trimming they are making great frames for the runner beans to climb.
Bramble bush looks like its going to bombard me with brambles for the next month or two and a few tomatoes are ripening.

My glut of tomatoes succumbed to some kind of plant infection? Stalks went brown which spread to the fruit, some turning moldy on the vine. Couldn't find any answers on line.
3 pumpkins harvested, final vine took a while longer to fruit, but got there in the end. That one will be ready mid October, perfect for Halloween. Hopefully the other three will store in the garage, but conditions are still a bit warm.
