I thought Strange World was perfectly fine but nothing that really stood out as really good. Also had no idea it was out until I was told we were going to go see it

Much like recent Pixar output, it wont stick in my memory but I enjoyed it while it was on.
The thing that will most stick in my mind is probably the odd similarities to Avatar.

I was going to go see it but it's on Disney Plus next week (!) so no point, really. No wonder these films tank if they go on atreaming so quickly.

I had low expectations for Avatar 2. I switched my brain off and just wanted to see pretty lights in a cinema environment.
Alas, it was one of the most awful films I have ever seen. Dull and boring in the extreme. The first film, by comparison, wasn't that great but at least had a decent central idea and an ok first act. This, however...NOTHING HAPPENED.
FOR 3 HOURS AND 14 MINS.
Hats off to the folk doing the motion capture work though. Only one shot seemed off. Top of their game.

Batman Returns (30th anniversary re-release): by far the busiest cinema screening I've been at this year! It felt like pre-covid times for a cinema visit.
It was obvious that the picture and sound had been scrubbed up for this release.
Turns out a 30-year old Batman film is what brings out the crowds round here.

The BEST Batman film will always draw the crowds.

There was also a big crowd for Muppets Christmas Carol the next day at the same fleapit. Both that and Batman Returns were packed. Everything else I saw this year was pretty empty.

Despite it being one of the better DCEU films, I had no plans to get Black Adam the Justice Society film on Blu-ray, but those swines at HMV Cardiff saw me coming and stuck an exclusive steelbook in my face.
Edit: It has Black Adam on the front, but a gatefold picture twice the size of Hawkman on the inside.

Black Adam certainly stands up well to a re-watch. Probably my favourite DCEU film, though well below TSS.

My appreciation of Bullet Train increases with each viewing. I should have rated it higher at the time.
Gonna get me the steelbook.
