I really have piled on the gut over Winter. I was very concious of my wobbly overhang as I wheezed past some super-fit athletic build runners as I struggled up an incline.
The diet does need to be addressed in parallel but I am finding it hard to shift my lockdown-acquired bad habits.

You'll get there. Keep at it. You're doing better than me. I've been told to exercise to sort my blood pressure out but my workload means I can't find the time. Which is making me consider what on earth I'm doing in life.

I normally become more active over the summer and lose some weight before putting it back on over winter, its maybe not a healthy cycle, but is relatively stable. But that didn't happen last year so now Im really feeling the bulk.

10.01KM - 1:02:06
A few traffic enforced stops, and a segment in the middle of the third KM where I had a stitch and had to stop for a car so stopped the clock and walked a wee bit, before resuming and doing the rest. So all 10k ran.
Feel quite light headed I must say.

Congrats on the 10ks! I did another 5k on Sunday. Was away for the weekend at Saltburn-by-the-Sea and went from run along the beach which was novel. Just like Chariots of Fire it was. The thing I appreciated most was it was flat which I'm not used to in Durham - typically I do about 40m elevation gain (according to my watch) and only did 4m running on the beach. Had loads of gas in the tank at the end and could have gone further but needed to get back to our appartment to check out.

2023 Run #15. 8.75km. 1:12:46. Soundtrack: Demolition Man OST (Elliot Goldenthal).
Tricky this evening: heavy traffic, pavement blockers, cyclists on pavements.

Did my first ever 10k today. Felt really good after the last 5k so decide to see if I could go to the next stage. Felt great for the first 7k then it started to get hard - managed to make it to the end. 65 mins in total. Pretty chuffed with myself.

I seem to have cut my wing-wang while out running. That was a surprise when I got in the shower.

I've had plenty of chafing and braised skin from rubbing, toenails coming off, muscle pulls, knee/ankle injuries, light headedness and nausea, even diahorrea during my years running.
Never have I cut my penis while running.
NEVER.

They say that Time is the fire in which we burn. -Ralph I prefer to think of time as a companion that travels with us; helps us to cherish those important moments. Time probably runs with you, Doc'. Giving you an encouraging slap on the rump when your pace slows.

Yesterday 10.01K - 1:01:18 av page 6:07km
Tough run, lots of smaller loops and wee bits of uphill, not a lot of stretches to get your time down, only recover before the next uphill.

2023 Run #20. Distance: who knows? Time: who knows?
Strava just kept giving me error messages yet again and "gps lost" so didn't record properly. I *think* I did around 9-10k.
Time to try another app.
Soundtrack: The Omen OST/Damien: Omen II OST (Jerry Goldsmith).

2023 Run #21. About 5.5 miles, ish. No music as the streamer just would not connect.
Deleted Strava. Going by reviews it seems to not be recording runs for some other folk too.
Not helped by bursting for a pee. Daylight, so no jumping behind a tree. I thoughyt to break my run at Tescopolis but I forgot shops in Englandland close early on a Sunday. I approached it just to see it being closed. I could have cried.
