Yes. After costs, that means circa £22-23k profit to go to Mary's Meals. Nick can confirm when he is alive again.

I don't think they'll have the room bookings going live this saturday at 1200 because the event on this weekend & everyone would need to stop & book hotel rooms at midday

We will announce when rooms go on sale ahead of time, and we would clearly not do it at the same time we are running an event.

I have just booked TFNation. Aside from the one year when I traded, I think this'll be my first full weekend at a Transformers convention since the last AA, so I'm looking forward to it. I haven't bothered with Club Con. I've been holding off booking because it's the same weekend as the rather-more-local Comic Con Wales in Newport, in case they announced any really good guests, but no-one's really grabbed me so far. There are a few guests it would be nice to meet but in a straight choice between a proper convention or £30 just to get in the door of a glorified collectors fair, the convention wins. And if they do suddenly announce Welker and Cullen, who they've had at other events before, then I guess it'll just be a day's sunk cost! I've booked the Premier Inn to secure a room. I might switch to the Hilton when the rooms are released, but with the Premier being half the price, I'll probably stay put. More money for toys and the bar, even if it means missing out on the breakfast!

Premier Inn breakfast is pretty good as well. I stayed their last year, and am pondering using it again this year. It'll depend on how the balance comes down in terms of budget against being closer at hand for toy-fu setup in the mornings.

i got a ticket for tfnation this year. i haven't been to a transformers event since the early 00s... possibly an auto-assembly... things are a bit more glamourous than back in the day!
is it the sort of event where punters are tolerated doing swap meets from their hotel rooms, does anyone know? if so i will bring a few tubs of toys.

Yes, there's no issues with folks doing swap meets in their hotel rooms.

Ah, balls. I booked all weekend for TFNation because no guests had really, really grabbed me at Comic Con Wales and they've just announced Warwick Davis.

I have had *many* problems with my hotel booking as the Hilton keep cocking it up. So another half an hour on the phone *seems* to have sorted it...even though they still can't tell me precisely what the balance is!!!
Anyway, down on Thursday. Leaving on Tuesday. I hope.
Hopefully that is the end of the hassle though. New Government so maybe the trains will actually be running properly so I can get there without difficulties, for once.
Nothing can go wrong now!!!!! Ahahahahahahaha!
THE TRANSFORMERS.
