You've not had a good time with the Hilton at all. :-(

I of course will return to TFN for Toy-Fu duties but I neither I nor Mrs Ralph will be staying at the Hilton again. They have lost our business. Plenty of decent alternatives short walks away. -Ralph

Indeed, there is a Crowne Plaza around the lake, the Moxy between that and the Hilton. The Premier Inn is 20 minutes walk away, but has already been picking up some TFN business (and not just from me - there were a few folks from TFN checking out from there on the Sunday morning this year, and hopefully their restaurant will be finished its refit by next year!)

Tony and I timed ourselves walking from the hilton to the Arden. Under 15 minutes door to door.

Even at half past midnight the route was well lit and felt perfectly safe.

Even at half past midnight the route was well lit and felt perfectly safe. It does. It's a bit daunting going through the NEC part late at night, and once you're over at the Hilton the walk is just long enough that you don't feel like 'going back to your room for a bit' until you're ready to leave the Hilton for the day, but it's a nice hotel, has its own pool/leisure bit and the parking is free until 2pm on the day you check out. It's £5 for three hours past that point, so for me being there 11am Friday until 5pm Saturday the parking only cost a fiver. The room was £66 for the night. Not sure how that compares to the Hilton con rate, but it was good enough for me. You can also get similar rates at the Moxy, which is much closer, if you time it right on the hotel booking websites.

I mentioned to Kiera about friends staying at the Arden this weekend. Perhaps we'll take a walk round when we're back for Cross Roads next month, see if it's suitable for her visual impairment, as she was told it's not. We usually stay at the Premier Inn.

I was going to leave this alone, but not now. Don't lie to my wife. My request for a written apology also ignored. Words cannot express how disgusted I am by how the Hilton has treated us. Repeated lies and fraud. It has caused a great deal of stress. I had a major panic attack/chest pain due to them being so awful today. I thought I was having a heart attack. -Ralph

The event itself was excellent and I had a great time on the Toy-Fu stall and chatting to mates. The extended version of Sunbow MTMTE was genuinely mindblowing.
My enthusiasm for TFN itself remains undimmed.

Did you go out of the main entrance or the back via resort world? I imagine the main entrance route which is much more car park is a bit daunting, but via resort world there were still plenty of people around right up to the new path going to the main road.
