I picked up the DWM Lord Tom special this morning. Disappointed to find standard specials are now £10, but even more so to get home and find a chunk torn out of one of the pages. However there is a useful guide to his costumes contained within, which will be useful for pinning down which character options Tom figures come from which stories.

Phase 1 done.
My motivation here was to give DWM it's own thread, so I'm 100% sure where to stick posts about that Mag. Somehow putting DWM posts in a thread entitled DW Books never sat right with me..... Nice & Clear going fwd now,
(of course an alternate solution to two hours work occurred to me as I moved the last post!!!!!)
While I had the scissors out I took the opportunity to snip DW Books into fact & fiction and give a thread to Vworp, Vworp which then expanded to include other fanzines.
Phase 2 will take longer. Much longer.....

Phil! Do NOT go through all 614 pages of the Doctor Who thread and pull out all the DWM posts! THAT IS INSANE!
I agree though, I've always wondered whether DWM goes under the main Who thread or the book one.

A full fillet of a DWM, book and Fanzine material from the Endless thread is impossible. Even if Burns throws that phrasefrom the Underworld at me. I'll settle for a few targeted searches - Vworp, Bookazine, Essential, Special, Wiped, Target, Nothing, Bulletin - getting us links to most of what I want and it being a little more obvious going forward. Though of course you can never get it 100% separate because if DWM says Y is appearing or X is coming out in DVD that info belongs in the main thread. So far in our DW Thread family we have the following: The endless Doctor Who thread tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/186/endless-doctor-who-thread
* Doctor Who Magazine tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/12270/doctor-who-magazine
* Doctor Who Books (Fiction) tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/3545/doctor-who-books-fiction
* Doctor Who Books (Factual) tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/12269/doctor-who-books-factual
* Vworp, Vworp! & other DW Fanzines tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/12271/vworp-dw-fanzines
Doctor Who Comics tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/8079/doctor-who-comics
Doctor Who on Audio tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/7116/doctor-who-on-audio The one marked with a * were created by me butchering the old books thread, whose address is now the DW Fiction thread address.

It's almost like Doctor Who needs its own forum in the other section...

I no longer have the space to keep DWM's other than a few issues so they tend to be charity shopped when read. Alas, this one will have to go in recycling!

Phil! Do NOT go through all 614 pages of the Doctor Who thread and pull out all the DWM posts! THAT IS INSANE! I'M THE HEAD OF TESCOS!!!!!!!! Also: Stop the clock! And for the record the current count for the main DW thread is 560 pages. Need to check what I've done and then will put a post in the main thread and adds links to the first post of all the other threads.

Still no Target special in Smiths this weekend, so I have gambled on a Panini shop purchase in case it disappears. In reality I'm not fussed about the disc, but I don't want to miss the magazine. So, I fully 100% expect to get a disc like Ralph. I can see this whole exercise is just the BBC distributor clearing their warehouses of stock they can't get rid of. The proper double disc Target CDs are not that.

Ok well I was wrong about that. My Target special has arrived and it came with The Curse of Fenric. 5 CDs!

I know how this goes:
Pinwig: But they've only just done three special editions on missing episodes! Ralph: Those were eleven years ago Pinwig: Get away. Eleven years. Ralph: No, really. Pinwig: I deny this reality!

It's pish. Mostly taken up by another tedious 'Twitter world cup' poll (I thought we had seen the back of that crap). Big feature on an unproduced David Tennant story. Other than some nice cg recreations of sets from Daleks Masterplan 6 and The Space Pirates 6 it's a waste of space. -Ralph

Hey up, how did that go from October to August!? I did not see that in Smiths this morning.
However, they do now have two copies of the Target special, both of which I can feel have a double CD case inside. Is it worth the gamble for another one? £11.99 Target blind bag roulette?
