13/14 November is a weekend to shatter the mind and trouser.
That's right - Scotcon time. Join myself, Ralph, Karl, Nick (back in teh country) and literally a cast of some in Edinburgh for japery.
QUIZZES! TOYS! SCOTCON EXCLUSIVE GIFTS! Drunken ramblings about why I hate Karg and why Ralph secretly loves Manta-Force!
BE THERE OR OFFER YOUR POLITE APOLOGIES FOR NOT BEING THERE!

As much as I'd like to come that's the weekend before Jonathan's birthday so I'm almost certainly out.

Its a possability. It may be difficult being that its closer to my daughters arrival date. She could pop out early.

I fully plan on raising the Kaptain upon my shoulder and parading him around wherever we choose to congregate.
Also, everybody loves KARG.

OK, I've booked Friday 12 Nov. and Monday 15 Nov. off work. So I'm in!
I look forward to details (such as what city it's to be located in) in due course.
Edit: What's KARG?

Huzzah for Martin!
Karg is the fabulously 80's Hair-Metal beast from the live-action Masters of the Universe film. Big shock of white hair, pirate hook and beastly visage.

On that note, the Masters of the Universe film is bloody amazing. It is often derided by some for being a He-Man film, and by others for not being like the He-Man cartoon at all.
Then I read that the director actually intended it as a Jack Kirby tribute, and bloody hell, does it all suddenly make sense. Also Frank Langella's Skeletor is one of the best cinema villains ever. Seriously.

I saw it four times in the cinema, back in the day!
It does anger me that I can't buy a DVD of it.

For anyone unfamiliar with Scotland, see the first ten minutes of this for a balanced and sensitive portrayal of the Scotlanders. Martin

I fully plan on raising the Kaptain upon my shoulder and parading him around wherever we choose to congregate. But I'm not cleared for low-level flight yet... I think I might bring my lead-filled boots... they might be useful in keeping my feet on the ground. :-) Karl

We were thinking Fountainbridge complex would be a good location. 10 mins walk from one of the two main Edinburgh train stations (Haymarket) so easy to get to. Has a nice pub, pizza hut and bowling so something for everyone and far enough away from city centre busyness.

I advise brushing up on TF lore for Nick's Quiz of Doom for a very evil booby prize for lowest scorer has been decided this day and it is very evil indeed. Even I was chilled to the bone when I thought of it.
