The designs have grown on me more now that I have seen video footage of the figures at toy fair.
I like 'Russian Blue-Rat' Splinter best. That debut stock image isn't great, but I've seen more beyond it.

I wish either Nickelodeon would loosen the reigns, and let NECA have a wider range, or else they would get Playmates to lean into the adult collector market a bit more, in the way NECA does.
To be fair, I'm not saying Playmates hasn't tried for the adult market? But their attempts all feel very halfassed, and like... not even "dip your toe in" cautious, but "poke the tip of thermometer, and think about it" kind of cautious.
I think if playmates tried an ML/DCUC styled line again, but actually went at it seriously, and put the characters in scale with one another, I'm sure it'd be a bigger success than the TMNT Classics line was. The way I feel, those were really popular in concept, it's just no one felt the execution was well done.

And it seems like the turtles themselves offer a LOT of mold reuse, to cut costs.
Wave One and Two 80s cartoon. Reuses the same mold with different heads for all four turtles

Raphael
Master Splinter
Rocksteady
Shredder
Krang
Footsoldier- comes with a mouser instead of a BAF piece
BAF: Krang's Android Body
2-
Donatello
Michelangelo
April O'Neil
Bebop
Casey Jones
Baxter Stockman (with swappable mutant parts instead of a BAF piece)
Footsoldier & Mouser- carry over
BAF: Rock Soldier, or Leatherhead
Turtles and Splinter in these waves, like in the show are the smallest figures. And with the reuse parts beween them helps cover the costs for the larger figures, and the BAF parts.

The first wave of Rise of the TMNT figures are up for preorder at Target, Walmart and Amazon.
Everything so far is shipping within the US, except for Amazon listings for Baron Draxum, Foot Solider and Meat Sweats which are available internationally. I managed to get those 3.

The Entertainer have the Mega Bloks collector series Bebop and Rocksteady sets for £3.75 each. Silverburn had about half a dozen of each.

I have a few of those making a nice army build of Footbots.
I've finally acquired a Muckman and the Pizza Points variants of the 4 basic Rise Turtles. They're basically the same as the full-color SDCC exclusives but packaged differently and with all the accessories of the retail versions.
